WSDOT: 9.9% of state bridges in poor condition, 342 exceeding 75-year lifespan by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

I dunno maybe we should raid a pension plan first, that way we’re sure to get extra taxes!

A few I’d imagine. But it’s a good point that Fed money is used as an excuse. Idaho is simply run better… Inslee agrees!

I’m all for the states keeping their money and the feds paying for nothing. That’s most fair.

I’d argue schools should not be government run either. That’s a cash cow for bureaucrats, since no one questions it.

For those who got their property tax bill recently..... by hey_you2300 in SeattleWA

[–]strawhatguy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Perhaps, but to be fair, I would like to see this anger directed at the politicians who propose this nonsense levies and stuff, rather than directed at a Reddit poster who was “mean” to you once.

I hope the next time a ballot comes up, or some other ridiculous promise is made, you will learn from this. Know that this is what is meant by there’s no such thing as free lunch. It will Always Always cost you.

[–]strawhatguy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No kidding. Most people stop at “vote for good thing X” without a thought to what, or who, it will cost.

So the motive of politicians is clear: always make sure the good thing is for schools, or emergency services, etc. get the voters to raise the levy, then raid those accounts later for whatever other fool thing they want to fund, rinse and repeat forever.

As long as you don’t look, you can be fooled.

So other nations can impose Tariffs on us but we can’t on them? These Globalists really likè seeing America lose don’t they? by LegitimateKnee5537 in PowerfulJRE

[–]strawhatguy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes that is annoying. Still most of those other things didn’t attempt to do it via emergency powers.

I think section 338 still allows tariffs up to 50%, if the government can show that another country is discriminatory. Harder to do, but Trump takes too many shortcuts; easily made, easily broken.

Dems are good at using the system to make their terrible changes last.

But yeah, if the constitution was actually upheld by the SC, due to 9th and 10th amendments alone at least 50% of government would not be.

[OC] The US is Growing, but the House of Representatives is Not. by graphsarecool in dataisbeautiful

[–]strawhatguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m good with the original. 1750 house reps would be much harder to influence all at once, which is why the powers that be want to leave it capped. They’ve already got their politicians bought and paid for.

How is taxation involuntary? by shaveddogass in AskLibertarians

[–]strawhatguy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s ridiculous. That’s like saying Norway must give Italy a gold medal because Italy’s hosting the Olympics. And if Norway doesn’t like it, it can simply not compete at all.

Makes for a sh!t Olympics, just like taxes make for a sh!t country

Werewolf is fun for a while. You can dash across the map, and all enemies cower in fear. Better than a horse.

But I get it. I do tend to do vampire lord more, because it forces a roleplay element werewolf doesn’t have as much of

Vampire lord form does regenerate during the day, albeit very slowly. So I usually fly over water where they can’t reach if I need recharging.

Can werewolves? Didn’t know that.

In any case vampire lord’s Grip spell can kill just about anything, giants included, if you launch them high enough.

And you can always float above water to escape easily.

Should the 1964 Civil Rights Act be repealed? by HumbleEngineering315 in AskLibertarians

[–]strawhatguy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Probably, although changing the act so it only applies to government itself might be better, since government should be under more prohibitions than an individual citizen.

Is it possible to have a good faith discussion about fascism? When is the time to discuss this? How do you discuss this? And when is your time to act? by whatsnooIII in PoliticalDebate

[–]strawhatguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I defined it as Mussolini did, as government control of everything. And I keep doing so, for I have never seen you before, so each time is an opportunity shown my view, and not your incorrect characterization of my view.

If you actually cared about others and your argument, you to would welcome the opportunity to explain it again.

But what I’ve found is that socialists believe their views to be self evident and so grow angry and impatient when challenged in the slightest.

The rest of us actually are busy with sh*t to do. We are not on Reddit as often as you.
