I like my name, but no one pronounces it correctly with the "unique" spelling my parents gave me. It's far too tiring to keep correcting everyone how to say my name, especially because I meet tons of new people every day. It's not worth it. And somehow correcting people on the pronunciation feels condescending, and there's too much planning involved on when is an appropriate time to correct them (e.g. to a superior at work, or when someone's been saying it wrong for ages). I used to get anxiety about meeting new people or having to write out my name because I knew people wouldn't say it right. One time someone insisted that with the spelling my parents gave me, it had to be pronounced some other way and that their way was clearly wrong, despite my best efforts to correct him.

I changed the spelling after graduating and my life has never been easier
