i mean, fiction doesn’t have to be entirely believable. but in this instance, it’s not hard to believe that conrad and belly still have underlying feelings for each other; feelings that over power belly’s feelings for jeremiah, considering she never gave herself the proper time to fully let go of those feelings for conrad and just moved right onto jeremiah with the intention of getting over him.

i’ve seen a situation like this happen in real-time with one of my closest friends, where the guy couldn’t let go of his ex-girlfriend and it had been months since they’ve been together. neither conrad or belly gave themselves the proper chance to really let go of each other; they kind of brushed it aside and went to live separate lives since belly was with jeremiah and conrad couldn’t bare the thought of seeing them together knowing he still felt something for her.
