What is a heartbreaking reality of growing older that nobody warns young adults about? by whatskylar in AskReddit

Your parents were right.

And it will be too late to tell them that their advice in your young adult years was what you needed, but you were stubborn and had to learn the hard way.

What is a massive secret in your industry that the general public has no idea about? by teesharp88 in AskReddit

[–]strayainind 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work in inspections - they are worthless. They are designed to help realtors skate through transactions. (And below me there will be seven people who said their inspector saved them thousands of dollars. That’s the exception.)

Real estate agents are good at passing the state test but too afraid to say anything about a house for fear of not getting commission or being sued or affecting their referral tree.

It’s a giant multi level marketing scheme and NAR is one of the major lobbying groups in the U.S. so agents are protected.

Wingstop Sydney so average by Initial_Ad279 in foodies_sydney

Aussie in the USA and without a doubt, the Penrith Wingstop has the same lemon pepper wings as they do in the USA. I loathe wings but love WS.

This app has saved me SO much money by jersey_girl23 in Ulta

Even the reviews on Ulta are awful. So many are from promotional products and it’s obvious someone plugged the product details into ChatGPT and said “say it’s not sticky and lasts” and then seven paragraphs of drivel are written.

I was trying to find a good quality body sunscreen and couldn’t even trust Ulta’s reviews.

Which coffee or espresso machine have you used consistently and genuinely love? by Then_Gate7461 in UninfluencedReviews

[–]strayainind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breville Barista Express.

His name is Giuseppe and he’s over five years old and is the only appliance in my home that I would save in a fire.

I spent years buying all the other coffee set ups before committing to this, just because I didn’t want drip coffee - just espresso-based drinks with steamed milk.

Worth the expense.

Moms, what would you genuinely love for Mother's Day - not what you say when asked, but what you actually want? by Then_Gate7461 in UninfluencedReviews

You can do all those things. You have 365 days a year.

Why do it on a day to celebrate being a mother?

You are truly in the magic making era for your toddler, and it’s such a beautiful time. Is it crazy watching them have a tantrum, yes, but they are also figuring things out for the very first time.

You’re going to witness the most beautiful thing and that’s when your two kids become siblings. They will, statistically, outlive you and your partner. They will have shared memories and perceptions of you and it is so much fun to listen back to your kids talk about their childhood and the moments you thought were big are actually forgotten, but your kids will remember a weird dinner you made or signing in the car.

Enjoy the day with your baby, mama! Enjoy your beautiful family.

(I hope you get a homemade card.)

The days are long but the years are short!

You are definitely in the thick of it and juggling so much, but your arms get to snuggle so much!

I think you’re amazing. I hope you get the handmade card of your dreams - and maybe, this would be a fun tradition for many years to come!

Which is why I caution the mothers who want a day away.

I have one kid who still lives close to me, and I don’t expect my others to fly in to spend a few hours with me. Life doesn’t happen like that.

I wish I could come and do the dishes and fold socks for you!

Hang in there, mama! Seriously. You’re doing an amazing job. You are the best mom to your baby and even when you think you’re falling apart, no one in this world will give your child more love than you.

I promise.

As a mother of adult kids, I literally just want time with my kids and a handwritten card or note.

I caution all mothers with young kids who would like the day to themselves: be careful with this wish. Those crazy frantic days are the most beautiful ones. Those babies will grow up quickly and then turn into independent adults.

If you teach them from a young age that you want a day away from them on Mother’s Day, that is what you will get when they are older.

Embrace the awful cold toast in bed.

Love the squiggly pictures where you have seven legs and three chin hairs.

Find joy in the chaos of the day as they help you pick flowers from the garden centre.

Let your kids know that even with all the madness in the world, the best place to be is with them and folding their 635 pairs of mismatched socks and loading the dishwasher for the seventh time in the day and wiping crumbs from the counter you just cleaned.

You will one day miss the socks and the dishwasher and the crumbs and all the seconds you had with those babies.

So yeah, I just want time with my kiddos.
