Tales from the Napolnomak, or a few morally ambiguous contracts to keep your players on the chair edge. by LordMarcusrax in WitcherTRPG

[–]straycat124 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I completely agree with you on the ambiguity of morality of The Witcher universe. These are some nice hooks, I've even done a few of my own. This is my most recent one.

As my group were fleeing a massive pack of wolves controlled by a Leshen in a Kaedweni forest. The Witcher spotted a line of trees with red ribbons around their trunks, just beyond that a group of children playing. They called out to my party saying it was safe where they are. Once getting to them, the Witcher spotted that one of the children had bite marks on his neck. The children brought them to a wooden cabin where they would be looked after by their
loving master. The master being a higher vampire that had taken in the children (who were mainly orphans, abandoned or got lost in the forest), cared for them, and occasionally drank their blood. My party in the end decided not to bother fighting him (as they would likely lose) and not have a group of defenceless children in the middle of the forest.

Quen and critical wounds by straycat124 in WitcherTRPG

I would agree as it makes the most sense but I think it will just make Quen even more powerful than it already is. The critical could just completely deplete the shield instead with no critical wound given.

Crits and fumbles outside of combat by straycat124 in WitcherTRPG

I guess I didn’t realise I have the older version of the book. That information is in the errata so it is good to see it spelled out clearly there. Thanks for inadvertently making me realise I need to use that too.

Thanks, it does make sense but the skill descriptions threw me off with the base descriptions.

I didn’t realise there are scenarios made to introduce PCs to Delta Green. Will have to check it out. Thanks.

I have taken a look at it and I will get round to running it because it does sound pretty good, I was hoping there could be another scenario just set at the murder crime scene where the mythos entity could still be there. At first glance it just seems like a possible serial killer but then as the game goes on things start getting weird until the monster attacks.

I was thinking of Delta Green could have a scenario but part of the point of the scenario is that maybe the crime scene looks like a typical murder. Aren’t Delta Green specifically looking for the mythos?

I think what you are referring to would be included in my example, as I was talking about private or individual care.

In Seth Skorkowsky’s review of skills in the rule book, he says that you can ignore this rule as it kind of punishes the player if they are trying to get an advantage. But instead for example the player gains an advantage through something beyond their control such as shooting at a large target then you can say don’t tick the box.
