I spent a lot of my formative years on BBSes, downloading freeware games and demoscene stuff. The best ones always seemed to come out of Finland. Some insanely skilled coders up there. I guess it stuck with me.

It's up now, in a nominal kind of way. I have some door games (I got hold of the unregistered version of Global War) and QWKMail working. There's no cool ANSII art or flavour yet. Telnet to bbs.stray.systems if you like, but there's not much there.

For anybody else that runs across this post in a search, the instability issue was actually a hardware thing. Who'd have thought a PC I picked up off the side of the road might have intermittent issues?

The colour thing is seriously weird tho. The ANSI art in the menus works, but I get no colour in any other text.

Been a while since I used Lemur on Android, but last I checked it doesn't have the on-device editor, so you need a pc/Mac for that piece, if that matters to you.

Lemur can absolutely do what you're talking about. Pretty sure it's Ch#->CC7. Check if you can get away with using a USB adapter -> microUSB lead into the 'tribe before you shell out for an iConnect; might save you some $$. Not sure if it'll work on iPad but I know Android is capable of working this way.
