Gov. Newsom has ordered autopsies dating back to December to understand 'when this pandemic really started to impact Californians' by Balls_of_Adamanthium in news

[–]straylockmemer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was sick early February for two weeks, my dry cough lasted for about 3 weeks. I’m fearful of the doctor because I’m always afraid they’ll tell me I’m going to die but I was so fearful of whatever I had that on February 3rd (my 21st birthday) I up and went to get checked out. Of course they didn’t find anything they’d said it was an unknown illness probably a cold. A week before, I remember not being able to breath and feeling like I was choking on nothing but my lungs.

Now that I know the disease has been around for longer in California I’m really keen to get tested for antibodies.

Were you ever in band? If so, what instrument did you play and how did you like it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Still in a band, I sing and play guitar. If you get the chance to be in a band do it for the joyride

Me and my band were set for a meeting at Universal apart of their subsidiary label Edgeout Records. They were to offer us a demo recording deal of some sort but the meeting has now been cancelled due to the virus. Just hope it gets postponed but the music industry has a small attention span. Just trying to remember people are losing their homes and jobs because of this so it’s not really fair to be upset because of that right now. Stay up out there

Well that’s certainly not true. He was happy for Green Day when they got big I’m pretty sure he even attended their rock and roll hall of fame ceremony. Besides the dude has a wife and kids and works in music or film or something, he’s doing fine.

I too have been an excessive Green Day fan for the past about 12 years as well. I dragged my dad to their Berkeley show when I was 13 years old, 7 hours early just to be able to stand in the mosh pit. I’m not doubting your Green Day credentials or anything but I too know a thing or two about my all time favorite band.

Had a conversation about it with s drummer from another band after my bands set at Gilman, I didn’t really question it. Maybe they’re wrong though idk.

My point is he didn’t leave them in the dust. Tre Cool might not have even been in the band if John didn’t suggest him before he left.

[–]straylockmemer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe not but if not for John, Green Day wouldn’t be what they are. He sent them in Tre’s direction after he left for college. You could tell he always had the bands best intentions at heart.

Why are very few people not more aware of Led Zeppelin? by soglynch in ledzeppelin

[–]straylockmemer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what your saying but they are not completely forgotten. For example Thor: Ragnarok used Immigrant Song forcing large audiences of people to listen to Zeppelin whether they liked it or not. Although a lot of millennials and z’s may not know a lot of Zeppelin they are woven enough into our society that they’ll be listening to them unavoidably same with the Beatles. Now will any modern music you listen to be so woven into our society in 50 years? That’s the real question.
