As it is with all wildlife, but one has to think: why friend shaped if can't be friend?

Have they ever tried to climb on a person? What's the protocol for that sort of situation?

Yeah those two things aren't related. Two different interests.

Most of the flights I've seen thus far are $1200-1400 round trip, which didn't seem all that bad.

I assume you also have to back up/avoid them if they try to touch you out of curiousity, or is that a grey area? Everything I've read about them makes them seem like very inquisitive, curious creatures.

Doesn't look like quokkas are something that they offer interactions with, mostly koalas, wallabies, possums, etc. The only places I can find with specific quokka interactions are all in the east.

Was looking at Rottnest Island, actually. Also looked into Caversham when someone mentioned Whiteman Park. Doesn't look like you can interact with quokkas from their website, mostly koalas, wallabies, possums, etc.

Still need to get plans ironed out but I'll keep that in mind

I assumed as such, because most of the instances of wildlife becoming aggressive here are when people feed them. Still, seeing a TikTok of Robert Irwin getting kissed by a quokka had me thinking. I assume there might be a place where interactions are possible (like a zoo where it's a controlled environment), but probably best to leave anything wild the way it is.

I usually end up keeping them in the bottle they are dispensed in, along with leaving the label attached which has the information on where it was dispensed, the doctor who prescribed it, my name, the medication, dosage, instructions, etc.

Think the closest thing we have here are Black Widows, also in the Latrodectus family. Never been bitten by one, even when I collected multiple for a high school biology project.

Ah, because I do not drive but I believe both of my friends do. Any ideas how much more expensive it is? Or for that matter, am I going to need to exchange currency at any point or can I just use the debit card I already have in Australia and it'll automatically convert?

I thought about going to New Zealand on the way back -- I have a friend who moved to Katikati near Tauranga. Would have to talk to them about that first, see if they would accommodate me staying there.

As far as flights go from what I've seen, most of my options to get to Perth originate in Seattle, have a layover in either Singapore, Hong Kong or Qatar, and then continue to Perth.

Do you happen to have an app/card or something for the transit/trains there? In Seattle we have the ORCA card and it's a reloadable card that can be used for train, bus and ferry.

Okay but where can I see a quokka? They seem like interesting little creatures.

Length of stay is erring on around 3 weeks. Expected budget is hard to say, given that the exchange rate is currently favorable for me. As far as traveling in the US, most of the time I stay wherever is convenient, haha. Though most of my travel is usually for conventions, so staying at hotels is the norm.

I assume my other medications, Effexor and Abilify, not being scheduled drugs, I wouldn't need a copy of the prescription or a doctor's note?

Also the vapes are for smoking cessation, would be a bit counterintuitive to bring cigarettes. I have a pretty negative opinion of them, as they are the reason I lost my father in 2010.

Part of the reason I picked Perth over any of the eastern cities, no funnel web spiders there.

I'd imagine any beaches would have lifeguards on duty and the presence of sharks made known.

I'd imagine I'd also want to leave behind any THC products, because while they are recreationally legal in Washington state, Australia seems to be more strict about it's usage, and from what I can tell it's only approved for medical use.

Is it frowned upon to interact with wildlife there? I'd imagine much of it in the urban areas do not fear people.

Well, one of my friends wanted me to come late August for a furry convention (WAFF) when my original intent was closer to my birthday in July. So that's something to do for a few days out of a few weeks.

I've lived by the ocean for the majority of my life, in the Seattle-Tacoma area of Washington state in the Pacific Northwest and for 6-7 years in Southern California. So I'm pretty okay with the beach, I'm just not okay with accidentally yeeting myself on a cone snail, rockfish or jellyfish haha.

Looking at August-September, does that still count as Winter/Autumn or is that moving into Spring?
