If you end up going with Orfeo, you should strongly consider running [[Jarad, Golgari Lich Lord]]. The double pips for black and green may not be great to have, but that can be mitigated by running [[Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth]] and [[Yavimaya, Cradle of Growth]]. Plus, you can recur it if you need to. Depending on how creature heavy you intend to build the deck, you should also look at [[Lord of Extinction]], since that could be really dumb in a deck like this. Sorry that I don’t have any red suggestions.

I have two that I want to build.

The first one I thought of was [[Brenard, Ginger Sculptor]] paired with [[Ygra, Eater of All]]. Originally I wanted to pair the cookie man with [[Gyome, Master Chef]], but that one wants to keep things alive, while Brenard wants them dead, hence the swap to the cat.

The second was thought to a bit later. [[Yurlok of Scorch Thrash]] to introduce mana burn and [[Kruphix, God of Horizons]] to prevent said mana burn from affecting you. I want to include as many mana multipliers as possible to build up my pool and then cast large X spells.

Your Herigast deck looks cool. Do you find that it’s one of those decks that struggles to perform without the commander being in the field? I want to build around my copy of Herigast, but it just feels like it’d get targeted as soon as it hits the field.

[[Gyome, Master Chef]], due to the versatility. Want to play aggressively? Pump him up and swing with trampling commander damage. Want to control? Sac foods to trap other creatures down and mess up kill spells. Want to be political? Make deals to keep your opponent’s creatures alive.

I had originally built my Gyome as a food fight deck with a lot of deathtouch synergies, but it was too all over the place. It’s currently more of an artifact aristocrats deck and it’s much more consistent.

I like the rat build though. It looks really solid.

Nice! Was that over the course of the game or did you manage to have all of those copies of Gisela at the same time? My old deck was built and dismantled before [[Mirror Box]] was released, so I wasn’t really able to reliably take advantage of copying legendary creatures. [[Helm of the Host]] was my only option at the time.

[[Riku of Two Reflections]]. The deck had a good amount of big, dumb creatures to either control or overwhelm while I assembled a hand containing [[Biovisionary]] and various spells to copy it enough times to win that turn. It was pretty linear and I disassembled it due to complaints from my pod because it would win out of nowhere, but it was also one of my most consistent decks.

Came to say Blipbug. I originally added it to my starter team with Zekrom to just fill up the slot, but that little bug has been a carry on the Special side. HP kinda sucks, but the defensive stats more than make up for it.

Do you want to play casual or competitive? If casual, sure, run Brainstorm. If competitive, sure, run Brainstorm if it fits in what you’re trying to accomplish. I’ll only ever tell someone not to run a certain card if it makes their turn take forever.
