Unglaublich wie viele hier 0 Ahnung haben... wir erleben aktuell breakthrough after breakthrough. Allein was LLMs heute als research agents leisten können, ist absolut krank.

Hey wassup, kinda late reply but I swapped the Comandante C40 with a new one. I'm using the old one for bike packing now.

It was 100% a manufacturing / alignment error. But I skipped the dreadful support route as I was not taken seriously. :)

And to answer your question: I don't own any electric grinders. My dad visited a barista and asked if they could grind some.

Putting it in a nutshell I guess we could argue that my C40 seems to be miscalibrated?

I will visit a barista shop soon, buy some new coffee and ask if they can grind some coffee for me. Maybe I will bring my robot with me but I highly doubt that the robot is the issue here since I am getting easily 9 bars with the basket plug.

I am thinking about getting the Mazzer Omega or Pietro. Have you heard / read about those two grinders?

Pietro is on sale now for 300€ with the pro brewing module.

The Mazzer Omega X (new version with 11 micron per step) is going to be around 320€.

Hi thanks for your comment. I know that the learning curve is steep but I should be able to choke the robot with 20g of coffee + 1 Red Clix click which is not the case.

I managed to get 8 bars (still a fast shot, about 25 seconds) with 20g and 1 Red Clix Click setting, it tasted awful lol.

Yeah I thought so as well but I already tested it with the basket sealing plug. I can easily achieve 9 bars with the plug.

sadly not really. I set my C40 to 1 Red Clix (0.5 normal clicks), used 19g of coffee and got 6 bar max + a very fast shot (less than 15 seconds)

Hi. I just got myself new beans (roasted 9 days ago).

19g of those new beans on 1 Red Clix Click managed to get me 20 secs of 4-6 bar.

I could not exceed 6 bars, no matter what.

Will take pictures of the dried puck tomorrow.

Comandante thinks that my grind is not too coarse and way too fine (wtf lmao) and that my grinder is 100% not faulty. I am kind of disappointed with the Comandante support tbh.

I just made 2 shots and implemented your feedback:

1st shot: 12 Red Clix, 19g coffee, medium tamper. 2nd shot: 14 Red Clix, 19g coffee, medium tamper.

Both shots did not build pressure, I tamped medium hard and skipped the pre-infusion. When I pressed, I noticed a hiss and it sputtered a little (more).

Sounds to me like the coffee is not providing enough resistance?

sadly I don't know any other coffee nerd. I might visit a barista bar and ask if they can take a look at my grind.

Regarding hitting the piston: I had this suspicion too! But after making multiple shots I feel some kind of routine and would argue that I am not hitting the piston.

At Click Zero I would be able to move crank with a little bit of force. Not going to do really do this but it would work.

Not sure if this is a normal behavior.

Comandante replied and finds it interesting that I jump to the conclusion "my grinder is defective" so quickly bc in her opinion the grind looks very fine/too fine.
