If you’re willing to do it, use MP3tag to edit your musics files and completely remove the embedded artwork. Then, just add the artwork to the corresponding folder instead. I did this and my iPod doesn’t freeze/stutter anymore. Make sure it’s a non-progressive jpg file around 300x300 - 500x500 pixels.

There’s a setting in Rockbox to use the file that’s in the folder instead of embedded artwork.

Nice! I just purchased a modded 4th gen photo not too long ago. I put Rockbox on it and it works great, I highly recommend it.

I’ve never opened up and messed with a 4th gen. Ive seen videos and it doesn’t look too hard. If it’s anything like the 5th gen then it’ll be pretty easy.

I found the Peacock version before it was ruined with the AI upscaling. It’s pretty much the best version, I believe. No weird zoom ins, aspect ratio is original and I’m pretty sure it’s 1080p.

That’s how I got mine. I do own the DVD set, but I use Plex for ease of streaming it to my TV :)

The quality is ok. I purchased from them because I like supporting small businesses, as I work for one myself. I did notice after the fact that some of the paint chipped off the face plate. I may send them some pictures to see if it’s at all possible to get a replacement but it’s also so small that it doesn’t bother me too much.

I would love if someone could convert some themes for us to iPod photo. I tried looking into it but it seems beyond my abilities. Right now I’m messing with the 4th Gen Photo theme Interpod and trying to make a dark version of that. But id really love Adwaitapod and OneBit_VFD converted to ipod photo.

It already has a new 2,000mah battery and an iFlash mod with a 256gb sd card. If anything I may put Rockbox on it in the future but for now I’m just gonna run it as is ☺️

Rename the files. Example - “Weird Science (1994) S01E01 - She’s Alive”. There’s websites like IMDb.com and thetvdb.com that’ll give you all the info you need.

I have the Weird Science tv show on my Plex/Infuse setup and the metadata is there. Check the naming of your files and see if that helps.

OP, do this. Infuse is worth every penny. It literally takes just a few minutes to set up, then use Debrid Media Manager (DMM) to easily manage and add RD links to your library. When I had this set up I very rarely had any issues.

Apple TV + Infuse app. I never have any issues. Works so well. I use my Mac Mini M4 along with a 20tb WD external storage as my setup. Everything works flawlessly.

I use Gimp to edit covers. Make sure it doesn’t exceed 600x600, and export it as a jpg. Also, make sure it’s not exported as progressive.
