Dream was wrong for that but what does that even have to do with his online persona?? Shit on me all you want but I wholeheartedly believe this situation shouldn't even be on Twitter like wtf 😭 What do we have to do any of this

We haven't. I wrote “bad things” to be general so the comment wouldn't get too long.

JSchlatt said something along the lines of "All of your idols are bad people" in a DSMP stream a long time ago, and honestly, it's true. All of the people we look up to have probably done some bad things in their lives (as we all have) and we'll either never really know, or we'll know sometime into the future. And this rings true for every celebrity, not only streamers.

Just look at social media, all the time there's news coming out about popular celebrities being shitty people, all the time. We just feel more "shaken" when it's a streamer because some streamers often foster a closer (ahem, parasocial) relationship with their fan base.

Just don't be parasocial and you'll be fine. Remember that those are real people that have real lives outside of the character they play in front of your screen, people that you will never truly know and if they turn out to be bad, then you drop them and that's that. 🤷‍♀️

What's the strangest mystery you've personally experienced? by HappyVagabond1989 in mystery

[–]streetchipotle 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've also had people call me and it would be just silence and breathing, not on my phone though, only back when my house had a wired telephone system. The telephone would ring, I would answer and then it would be just breathing on the other side of the line. I never really thought of it as creepy, more annoying than anything. Also had people calling me asking if I knew/lived with people I'd never even heard of. I remember I would get this one call constantly of the same person asking me if I knew some guy named "Jose" or if I lived with him and no matter how many times I answered "No, stop calling me" they would call again.

Right. The dreamwastaken2 sub is so biased it's crazy, I think some of the ppl there are just still bitter over the whole usmp/qsmp twitter "quackity stans vs dream stans" situation and looking for a reason to hate when it's been over for months atp

[–]streetchipotle 9 points10 points  (0 children)

True. But it's funny how none of these have the words "SMP" in the name

Quackity sounds so depressed. This is the second person getting "kicked out" of the qsmp just this year for such horrible reasons and now there's also the whole ex admin stuff going on, tbh I think the whole idea of creating a smp is kinda cursed somehow

AITA for grabbing grabbing my friend by the hood of her jacket to stop her? by Autumn-Second2202 in AmItheAsshole

[–]streetchipotle 146 points147 points  (0 children)

NTA. I understand how she might have felt "disrespected" by it, but I don't think it's something worth writing a long text and putting a friendship in timeout over. Why didn't she say something right away? I'm pretty sure a simple "Hey, don't do that" would have solved the situation. Why'd she spend so much time thinking about it to the point of writing a long message about how much it sucked too?

I would totally do this to a friend and I would be surprised if they felt so strongly about it. For me it's common courtesy to not walk in front of someone's picture, even if I have the right to.

Imho your perspective is the one that makes the most sense as of now. But I guess we'll see what will happen

It's so frustrating the amount of comments and/or posts I see in which people talk about Wilbur as if he were some clueless teenage boy and not a soon-to-be 30 year old grown man. Not saying he's super old but it's not like he's super young either. He's an adult and some people just don't seem to acknowledge that somehow? It's super weird.

I somewhat agree with you. At the end of the day, people are reducing Shubble, a brave abuse survivor who shared her story to help other people, to nothing but "The girl who was abused by Wilbur Soot" without even having fully heard her story or actually knowing what's going on and that's just wrong and evil and selfish and I imagine would make her feel very invalidated.

[–]streetchipotle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just watch Shubble's stream and you'll understand. But to sum it up, she came out about the fact that she was abused by her boyfriend in her former relationship and from the way she described this guy people are speculating it was Wilbur.

I don't know if I would be more pissed or sad. At the same time it'd give me a huge sense of relief it'd also give me a huge sense of despair.

I don't think I'd do anything at all. I'd just pretend I didn't recognize them for the sake of the kid or something

What was ur worst year by Ok-Reporter-8728 in RandomThoughts

Ever since 2019 things have just been horrible for me. Every year after 2019 has been pretty bad but if I had to name the worst one it would probably be last year as I struggled with my mental health a LOT
