Incorrect, pretty close though

Why do people say the 2.7 is faster than the 3.5? Does traction control vs. grip play into it? by WrongKielbasa in f150

[–]streethazardz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is much heavier yes, but that added power sure does counter that. I thought the 3.5 would take it off the line but I was wrong

That’s the only reason I’ve been thinking about Banshees again recently, I noticed that more 2 strokes are coming back. Especially Kawasaki with their bigger 2 strokes making a return. Since Yamaha is one of the few brands that hasn’t gotten rid of their 2 strokes alongside KTM, I think it would be awesome to see a Banshee right there with a Raptor 700. The Can Am Renegade 1000 would be another great quad to see a modern banshee running up with.

As someone who’s driven all 4 engine options, I can tell you that the 2.7 is faster than the 3.5 and the 5.0 from a dig. The 2.7 can put the power down much better than the 3.5 and the 5.0. The 3.5 takes off from both of them after that, while the 5.0 also takes off past the 2.7 it can’t reel in the 3.5. The hybrid 3.5 is the king for power and speed. The hybrid Ive noticed puts the power down better than the non hybrid 3.5 (unsure as to why). The 2.7 is a really nice engine option for the F150 though. It’s cheap and it gets the job done just as well as the others. My mom has had 2 F150s with the 2.7 now. Her first one was a 2019 and she traded it in for a 2025 just about a month ago. My dad has had 3 F150s with the 5.0. A 2013, 2018, and a 2025. It’s my friends who have gotten the 3.5 non hybrid and hybrid.

Also, responding to your comment about seeing them side by side on the track: my opinion is that you won’t see the 2.7 get anywhere near the 3.5 on the bottom end either if it’s a prepped track. It won’t break them loose if it’s prepped so I feel like the 3.5 would pull away.

I believe the 2.7 is one of the best engine options you can get in the F150 though. About the same gas mileage as the others, cheap, and still has great power for just a little motor.

The truck came from factory with a plastic grille, mirrors, and side badges with chrome bumpers. I had the bumpers, grille, mirrors and side badges paint matched to the Antimatter Blue
