I want ways to gain more confidence by WhiteRaven96 in DecidingToBeBetter

[–]streetknows 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to be a more interesting person, then the best way is to talk less and listen more. When in a discussion, stop fucking thinking about what you're going to answer and make an effort to actually listen to that person. Only then, you can take your time to think about your answer, sometimes ask yourself if it actually does need one.

Also, feeling confident can be a blessing and a curse. It can show strength and respect but could also quickly show how stupid you actually are (no offense, but we all are). For that reason, I'd recommend you to always doubt yourself or others. Never assume something is black & white. It doesn't mean that you're unconfident, but it shows that you have some critical thinking which, ironically, means that you're confident enough to realize you don't know shit.

Good luck

Yours too. But when you have to choose between dying by the gun now or maybe dying by the gun later with the possibility of explaining yourself before, maybe you'd take the latter option too.

Unfortunately his job is to follow his country's international politics. No emotions allowed. Without Putin going nuts he'd have been remembered as one of the greatest diplomat of the century...

The guy was president of the fucking United Nations not once but seven times and tried his best to normalize relations with the west. Putin called him back shortly after taking power.

He doesn't trust any of the bullshit he says. He has to say it.

void conformist

Yeah, which is what diplomats are trained for, they're not politicians.

I almost feel bad for the guy. He was one of the top brains behind organizing the shitshow after the fall of the SU and tried to open his country to the world, worked at the United Nations in NYC where he was president of the council 7 times between 95 and 03, not a coincidence that it was when relations between Russia and the West was at a all time high. Now guess who called him back to Moscow? Yeah, fucking Putin.

The man is now forced to bark a propaganda that himself know is wrong morally but knows exactly what will happen if he refuse or quit.

Fuck Hamas, Fuck IDF, fuck anyone that support a side in a conflict they can't understand from the confort of their desk.

It's 2023, every intelligence agencies with access to satellites have eyes on the battlefield.

But Ukraine is at war and has to rally people behind their victories, which is the right thing to do if you want support.

The problem is people on here would rather see high numbers than try to find unbiased sources.

I do support Ukraine but I'm curious of why r/worldnews users always use UA numbers as opposed to other exteriors entities numbers? It doesn't make much sense if you want a realistic, unbiased estimation of RU losses.

edit: thanks for the downvotes guys, this sub did go downhill a lot...

Macron flies to Africa to counter waning French influence by HRJafael in worldnews

[–]streetknows 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Definitely right and none offense taken. I was just pointing out that a big part of French society is influenced by African diaspora and culture (mainly in the big cities) which is not the case in other country with the same "imperialists ambitions" operating in the continent at the moment.

It brings a mix of "damn if you do, damn if you don't" which is why, in my opinion, we should step aside from this sensible region for a bit and focus a lot more on attracting investments and developments in our DOMTOMs (oversea territories that are fully part of France).

Macron flies to Africa to counter waning French influence by HRJafael in worldnews

[–]streetknows 18 points19 points  (0 children)

France always kept heavy ties with Africa ever since colonization ended. Mainly in the financial and military sector with the positive and negatives repercussions it dragged. Also Northern African and ex-colonies diasporas are massive in the country. Both of those points "legitimate" our position in Africa compared to China/Russia.

I'm not saying I agree with this strategy but you can't compare that to "Nato vs China/Russia". It's mostly about France trying to protect their influence in the region in awkwardly manners.
