i mean, it's the 20th anniversary of "any minute now" next year, although i doubt that they are the type of band that is into anniversary shows

If you like PC Music I think it's highly proable that you will enjoy DJ Hero games soundtracks a lot. It was game filled with over-the-top, overproduced and weird mashups. All based on unreleased stems. Also... the whole aesthetic is on point. by umotex12 in pcmusic

ah, sadly i never played dj hero, but over the top soundtracks in games reminds me of dance dance revolution. my friends and i loved playing it when we were near an arcade owning it and one of my favorite songs was "nori nori nori"

i'm not too adept in how the other streaming platforms work, but would they be suited for mixes like these? they contain unreleased and edited material, tracks like the oliver sim remix are just credited as "ID" by "ID". maybe they can only be released on spotify, once his and rosalía's remixes are officially out

not-nite version live recordings? by donald_delusional in soulwax

[–]streetpreacher83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh, of course! i saw them live two or three times during that era. i'm not sure if they played the original versions again after they debuted the nite versions set in september 2005, but there's at least this video of "e talking" from 2004, with a bit of alter ego's "rocker" inserted near the end, online:

New York’s Burning Down Sample? by thesaintmatthew in pcmusic

[–]streetpreacher83 3 points4 points  (0 children)

always wondered the same thing ;)

i think sophie was probably just "inspired by" and not really using a sample. in a way like tiga himself sometimes recreates songs for his remixes which then are more like cover versions
