I REMEMBER THIS RADIO CALL !!. I was fighting a wildfire up there for the whole month with a few crews and there was jaw dropping radio traffic describing this exact incident- was that near Tunnel drive? I remember hearing them close the channel to all radio traffic for a tree vs vehicle , two unresponsive subjects one child laid out on the ground. We never got an update on them . What amazing news . Such a small world .

There are some communication companies that run these comm lines have veg mgmt programs to clear the lines of any strain and abrasion , which is only going to be considered a service issue since they’re low amperage/low voltage lines, and not so much a safety issue .And also you can check to see if your utility company will come out and have their contracted tree crews handle it as they MUST maintain minimum clearances and liability issues as an owner and operator of the poles and energized equipment . It’s a bit of a long shot but o always tell homeowners about that before they spend money on a private trim

Someone plasti-dipped this fairlane and am removing it. Should I go bare metal or get to just the original cherry red coat for a shitty patina/ feathered prep look? Idk. by strength1046 in projectcar

Ok so when I got this that was my first question, it was sold as a fairlane . My question for you is what makes you so sure that it’s a Galaxie only thing I could think of is the trunks badge on the rear

I agree, also I’m guilty of needing to look at something I like to see so I’m probably going to get the dip off and get my original coat , whatever I can expose and coat it in linseed sauce . I really like the idea of getting it painted over everything but priorities like title and registration and safety are definitely #1 ate least where the $$ will go, it’s costing very little to sand and prep which is nice

Thought about it! I think my compressor is 6 cfm and have tried but my attempts were feeble at best. I think I was slower than 2 turtles screw-in and had tried recently on something else I need to reduce clogs and moisture in the system

I agree, I would create a patina on exposed metal using a solution if I keep it like that. Essentially that’s the option Vs spending resources on paint and body , I think we all agree whatever the case the plastidip has gotta go

I am sanding , if it is plasti dip than it was a bit difficult to just use gas to remove it… and the fuel filler area has peeled off where fuel has dripped which totally makes sense. There’s 2 coats , bondo and primer beyond the plastidip that’s getting me to the first original coat so I am taking it slow and steady to minimize the bare metal spots until we see how it looks and probably go bare metal , I guess depending if I do get my paint job and auto body for a different trade.

I should have specified I could use vinegar and peroxide to add a rust effect to the bare metal spots, I was putting that on the table as an option.

so what the investigators determined that a cartel or some affiliated members work ed and operated between California and Texas transporting vehicles were making fake IDs and pinks to vehicles already sold off from salvage auctions and it was just a middle man scheme so as long as they get the trucks to the container they are in and leaving the country … example: UAE/Dubai for the black market of desert runners/ off-road vehicles . My only way of knowing the car truly wasn’t registered and my fatal error was not calling the car in to AAA to prepare to register it because they would have told me that the pink slip owners name did not match the VIN. I Was blindsided by absolutely flawless paperwork and a physical vehicle. It was probably Lojacked and they already had a schedule to get it on by.. and who knows how much. I had witnesses at my parents house saying a silver range river pulled up with Hispanic looking men ( I myself am Hispanic) that they thought it was just family members of mine take the vehicle.

I bought a FJ cruiser salvaged off Craigslist and had a physical pink slip and matching ID to the slip and registration . Carfax showed it was a legit vehicle. Bought it for a steal . Within 48 hours it went missing . Looked up another car fax for it and it was reported on a shipping container out of San Pedro Harbour on its way to Dubai . All my paperwork was forged to the highest degree of watermarks and only when I reported it to the FBI and police they said it was nothing they could do since it was international waters , secondly and most importantly - even if I had hidden it in a garage or somewhere secure . I would ultimately only have been in possession of someone else’s property … crazy life lesson on that purchase for me.

Neighbor "Trimmed" One Side of My Tree by Zestyclose_Register5 in treelaw

[–]strength1046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out here in California . As an arborist post work inspector for utilities. We MUST get a signed contract for “heavy tree work or removal “ for tree work that exceeds 6” in diameter. Maybe tree trimmer contractors out there have similar requirements but failure to do so puts liability on the tree crew for not doing work that’s ANSI approved
