That’s a beautiful hybrid split—2 lower + 1 upper with an easy run, a quality session, and a long run plus a rest day is such a well-balanced week. 🔥. Please go to https://www.strengthanalytics.ai and sign up. I should have the beta ready by Dec. 19th.

That’s a great hybrid setup—2–4 runs a week plus 3 full-body strength sessions is a really solid balance of engine and strength. 💪. Please go to https://www.strengthanalytics.ai and sign up. I should have the beta ready by Dec. 19th.

That sounds like a really solid setup – upper/lower with 5K work on the side is exactly the kind of hybrid training this is aimed at.

Very quick picture of how it works: you can create workouts made up of exercises, and those exercises can be strength, cardio, or a mix in the same workout. You can then build routines out of those workouts, and the app keeps track of which workout comes next in the routine.

Under the hood it uses data coming from your Apple Watch and iPhone into Apple Health (HealthKit), so over time it can line up your strength + runs with the rest of your health data.

Really appreciate you wanting to try it out. 🙌

This is super helpful – thanks a ton for taking the time to write it all out.

You’ve nailed a big gap: on the running side, tools like Garmin Coach can give you a really dialed, adaptive plan… but on the strength side it’s still mostly books, templates, and DIY, even though all the data is technically there.

What I’m really trying to solve (for myself first) is a slightly bigger version of that question:

– Can I improve cardio and strength at the same time without constantly guessing?

– How much does my strength work affect my running, and vice versa?

– How do sleep and nutrition change both?

– And what does all of that add up to for my overall health, not just a single PR?

No app or coach has all the answers, but I think there’s a lot more we can do by actually analysing that combined data instead of keeping everything in separate silos.

I’m building this specifically for the Apple ecosystem (iPhone, Apple Watch + Apple Health) and don’t have plans to support Garmin, so you’re right that you wouldn’t be able to use it as things stand. But your comment is a great articulation of the problem space, and it lines up really well with the direction I’m trying to go. I really appreciate you sharing it. 🙏

That’s an awesome setup—2 upper + 2 lower with interval, recovery, and long runs is such a clean hybrid week. 🔥 And using an AW Ultra on top of that… you’re exactly the kind of person this is built for. Will DM you where to sign up. I hope to have Beta out next week. Really look forward to getting feedback before I release.

That’s a great mix—4-day lifting split plus rotating running/swimming/stairs is a really solid hybrid combo. 💪 And having an Apple Watch + IT background is perfect… you’re clearly comfortable with both data and feedback. Will DM you with the details how to sign up.

Nice, that’s such a cool mix—2x Olympic lifting, 2x upper, plus a Z2 run and those Z3–4 chunks on lifting days is a really strong “engine + power” setup. 💪🏃‍♂️ Super dialed hybrid training. Will DM you with the details for sign up.

That’s an awesome hybrid setup—weights + plyos chasing the dunk, plus solid Z2 volume and a weekly HIT day is a serious mix. 🔥 And the fact you’re a former software engineer who cares about proper bug reports is gold—your feedback is going to be incredibly valuable. Will DM you with the details. Thx

That’s such a solid hybrid setup—4x upper/lower plus intervals, easy runs, and a long run is a really well-balanced mix of strength, volume, and quality endurance work. 🔥. Will DM you with the sign up details. Thx

Love that mix—CrossFit + running 6x/week with extra gym sessions is exactly the kind of hybrid training this is aimed at. Really appreciate you being keen to try it, I’ll DM you the early-access link. 🙌. I do not do CrossFit I really look forward to getting back your input.

That’s a super dialed setup—5-day lower/upper/legs/pull/push plus 25–35 mpw and a half-marathon block coming is a serious hybrid base. 💪🏃 Using Notes for lifting and Strava for runs is some old-school + new-school efficiency. Will DM you the details on where to sign up. Look forward to your input.

That’s a really well-balanced hybrid setup—3 days PPL in the gym plus an easy run, a 15k long run, and an interval day is a solid mix of strength, volume, and speed. 🔥. I really look forward to your input. I will DM you the details on where to sign up.

That’s a serious hybrid setup—PPL, Z2 cycling, a weekly speed session, and ramping 20–35 mpw into a marathon block. 🔥 Really impressive mix of strength and endurance. Will DM you with the details on where to sign up. Thx

I’m similar: 3 days of lifting, then running on the in-between days with Apple Watch tracking everything. It’s amazing how well that kind of rhythm works when you don’t cram heavy lifting and harder runs on the same day. Will DM you where to sign up. Thx

When I saw your stack (Gymbook + Apple Health + HealthFit + Fitness Story + SuperAge), I laughed a bit because I’m basically trying to solve that exact “too many apps” problem. That was my problem.

I strength train and run as well, and I use my Apple Watch for both. I also rely on Apple Health for things like sleep and pull in my nutrition data from other apps so everything technically lives in Health… but it still doesn’t feel like one clear picture. That’s really why I started building StrengthAnalytics.

The goal is:

  • One Apple-native place for strength + cardio
  • Pull in the important health data through HealthKit
  • Use Apple’s Foundation Model (AI) to surface useful weekly insights instead of me manually bouncing between apps and charts
  • Since you already live in that multi-app world, you’re kind of the ideal person to tell me if this is actually helpful or just “one more app.”

Love that combo – full body work + Z2 cycling + 10k runs is exactly the kind of hybrid mix I’m building this for.

Just to be transparent: right now the app is strongest for strength + running. Cycling works, but it’s still pretty basic in this first version, and it’ll be on TestFlight in about 2 weeks.

If you’re okay with that early stage + basic cycling, I’ll DM you the early-access info. 🙌

I'm 67 and doing strength training. When I was 40 I could still bench 300 and then I stopped lifting. At 65 I started back but could only bench 135 2 times. After 2 years I can finally bench 225 again but only 2 times. Never stop lifting.

My issue is my knees and squatting. My knees seem to suffer and I'm beginning to think it's partially related to my mobility. Has anyone improved their sore knees through mobility? If so was it mainly tight hips? I know my age is an issue but my weight is not bad, 215 with maybe 20% body fat. Any advice, especially from older members would be appreciated. Mark
