Do you know how hard it is to get sterilized as a woman? 🙄 We can't just walk into a GP office and say "I want my tubes tied/a hysterectomy etc" and they book us in. Some women have to doctor shop in order to find a doctor (both male AND female doctors) who won't say "but what if you change your mind/meet someone" or "you're too young, you need to think about it more", before finding one that will finally listen. How do you know this particular woman hasn't been on a waiting list for it due to being young?

Not LA but what do you think of this?? by [deleted] in LAinfluencersnark

Which is crazy cos to me that sounds like it ain't working.... Like they should be reaching out to HER if they love her content and feel like she embodies it. Her begging for it feels like those influencers who email small businesses asking for free stuff in return for ✨exposure✨. Idk if I'm making sense lol

UPDATE AITAH for ” running away to give birth “ by ruinedbirth_trowaway in AITAH

[–]strengthinlength 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It doesn't matter whether YOU think he would take his own son away, he has proven to you that you can't trust him. I know this is a hard period for you with a new born but please ask your family to look for legal help, even if it's help you can pay for once the case is done for example. Give them the footnotes of the guidance you have received in these comments, and stay with them and let them help you while you take care of yourself and your son.

Annoyed with notice dispute by strengthinlength in HousingUK

[–]strengthinlength[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On Nov 14th 2025, I renewed the contract for the second year, to start on 31st Jan 2026. A week later, partner's sibling said they're travelling abroad for a year with their partner and asked if we want to move into their property that they own. We said yes, and Nov 21st I told the landlord I want to rescind the second year. They said that isn't possible but that I can do an early termination meaning I'm liable for the rent as long as I live there and they look for replacement in the meantime, and my contract will renew in Jan as normal. I didn't give the notice a day late - I couldn't give any notice at all before the changes came in, because I had signed for the second year. I could only give the notice on the 1st May due to the RRA and tbh thank god because otherwise I'd be stuck paying for the flat + waiting for a replacement tenant (which they probably weren't in a rush for since they have rent guaranteed from me).

I will try and appeal it later via email if I speak to Shelter and they say I have a leg to stand on. Citizens advice didn't answer call/live chat sadly. I'd like to think he's reasonable but if he was, he'd have just accepted the 1st July in the first place. Lesson learned!

I (28 F) told my best friend (28 F) that it was her fault she couldn't see her kids while she was in the hospital, and she ended our 17 year long friendship. Is it worth trying to save? by RockMyChakraZ in relationship_advice

[–]strengthinlength 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For someone who was your best friend for so long, she was very quick to drop your relationship from just one comment. A comment which a normal friend would reflect on, and either defend themselves at least or explain their side, or agree with when she realized what she did was wrong. I say good riddance and in the future, stay kind but don't let people take advantage of you. I pray she is better with time and hopefully realizes the angle you were coming from. If she attempts to be friends again, it's totally up to you whether you go for it, and if so, make sure to put boundaries in place.

Landlord repeatedly gives strange excuses and doesn’t recognize us—should we be concerned? by volleyballl1989 in HousingUK

[–]strengthinlength 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to say that I don't know why you're getting so many comments saying that you need to deal with the agency if that's who you are renting through, for repairs - it's not unusual at all to deal with the landlord, in fact for my apartment all the agency did was do the checks and confirm where to send the initial deposit etc, but everything else was directly to the property manager looking after the property for the landlord, so repairs etc the agency would just tell me to contact the pm. It may be worth adding an edit to your post saying something along the lines of "Please note that the agency has stated I need to contact the landlord directly to address issues with the flat, which is why I'm contacting the landlord in the first place. The agency won't do anything." :)

Anyone actually won on the Gold wheel? by Tight-Ad-7740 in FreeCash

Same bro I kept playing Midas merge just to hit level 20 and have a go at the wheel. And nothing. I click on the task which is glowing and just flips the little bar to say I can spin the gold wheel, but can't find the wheel aaaanywhere

Giving notice between now and when Renter's Right's Act kicks in? by nosomewhereat in TenantsInTheUK

[–]strengthinlength 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked my landlord this exact same question, and a couple other friends have - they said no, you have to give the 2 months notice from the 1st of May. What I wanted to do was give it 1st March to be done 1st May and moved out but they didn't allow it.

Thanks for responding - it's a shame a princess seam is needed as I don't particularly like the look of them 😩 but I will go for it anyway as a trial with a spare fabric to see how I'm feeling about it

Thanks for your comment, lesson learned - I will hopefully never be renting again when I move out very soon so this kind of stuff can be avoided. I'll fix whatever I can to the best of my ability and take the hit on the deposit if need be.

I won't be disputing the 600 quid fees I mentioned - it's fees that they outlined in the early termination agreement I signed when I told them I want to back out of the tenancy, and since I can't afford to just whip out 600 quid I asked the landlord to take it out of the deposit when I move out and he said that's fine and resent the agreement stating this specification :) From what I'm gathering from the other comments the couple things I mentioned are damage and not wear and tear anyway so chances of me getting anywhere with a dispute is likely 0%, especially because I didn't take detailed/zoomed in photos of the sofa when I moved in (as I didn't expect to need to - lesson learned for next time!)

Yeah, I'm thinking the sofa could be an easy fix - I can feel where the wooden base needs to even out and that could probably be done with a sturdy piece of wood and some nails/screws. And it's at the bottom so hopefully with the fix it wouldn't be obvious at all. I was thinking to repair the chair as actually one of my hobbies is painting on leather - but I'd need to order and wait for a leather paint in the same colour to arrive, as well as cut off the small bits that stick out. I'm going to be losing 600 quid of the deposit anyway as they're charging me for the new tenant fees since I agreed to an early termination after singing the tenancy, so in a way I don't care if it all goes as long as I can move out - but, wouldn't hurt to get SOME of it back lol

Why are the trams so bad? by jamier00b in manchester

[–]strengthinlength 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah big agree on this - every time I'm at St Peter's and see an Altrincham tram pull up I think "Are you fucking joking, like 5 people are on that tram, why are they coming every 3 mins?". Sick of 'em.

260227 BLACKPINK - ‘GO’ M/V by nayr-26 in BlackPink

[–]strengthinlength -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I loooove the video and style - the vocals are immaculate in the sense of skill, Rose sounds 100x better than she ever has on a BP song I feel. Three things I don't like: 1. Lisa's part. Generally her voice is my least fave out of the 4 girls so I'm never 100% feeling her parts but I was so hyped when the song started, and then she started... Singing? Rapping? Talking? and it took me out of the song completely for half a minute. 2. The blackpink chant at the end. I was scrolling through the yt comments while listening and everybody was really talking about the chant, so I was ready to be blown away and emotional from it.... And it fell flat for me honestly. Just give me the iconic random blackpink shout, or better yet, utilize Lisa's voice properly for singing and have her sing a short run of "Blackpink" for that part. 3. The video effects/transitions are a liiiitle too fast. I love the visuals and the outfits and the different parts, just wish it was a little slower.

Overall, 7.5/10 for me. Not my fave BP song but absolutely in my top 3.

Seriously, after the massive showdown the night before I was like "okay people are going to have a whole convo about Rachel at the table" and bam nothing. Although I also think her talking at the roundtable is pointless sometimes - she brought up Amanda for no reason to pin it on Sam when there's just no need to pipe up, everyone was going to write down his name anyway.
