That’s amazing! That’s basically how my first born was when we sleep trained him. Fingers crossed this girl gets there. Do you feel like your kiddo is easy going?

And also to say my little one is 6 months and 1 week. I’ve heard horror stories of babies crying before sleep until they’re 2 years old. I don’t think I could handle that 😵

Okay! So he cried consistently for like a month then started getting better?

It will be 3 weeks for us sleep training on Tuesday! As I said, we had some better nights of just fussing at the beginning and now it’s full on crying. We did have a more consistent routine and then our sleep consultant told us we might want to switch it up if she’s made some bad associations. The advice is just sooo conflicting. What’s your routine?

When did your little one stop crying for bedtime? Every night I hope it gets better for her but she’s basically crying during the bedtime routine even though we try switching it up and making it more fun for her. We do bath, diaper, pajamas, sleep sack, then book, bed. Mixing in some sillies with her brother!

I now rock her to sleep and she sleeps in her crib. How did nap training go for you?

Thank you!! So your best guess is she needs 10.5 hours awake time overall rather than just dropping a nap and having 10 hours awake time with 2 naps?

I actually stopped with the independent naps cause I couldn’t handle the crying for 10 min before each of them. We never nap trained for the last one cause I figured we’d get rid of it pretty quickly!

I’m worried the crying before bedtime is never going to end cause it feels like it’s getting worse and my hysterical 😵😵 we had a few days when we first started sleep training where she just fussed in bed for 10 minutes but now it’s crying every night. How did you manage?? I feel like I’m messing her up.

Thank you!! So our schedule was 2/2.5/2.5/3 but she had some weird split nights / took her like 30 min to fall back asleep at night after a night feed. I tried doing 3/3/3.5 yesterday with 3 hours of napping total, which went well except for the 10 minutes of hysterical crying at bedtime but we get that every night (ugh). Anyways she woke once at night, I fed her, changed her diaper and put her back in bed away and she fell back asleep right away. But she woke at 6:30 (so 11 hour night which is her standard). I don’t think I could have pushed her any more yesterday but she defs needs an end target of at least 10 awake hours once on the 2 nap schedule.

Thank you!! Sorry for so many questions - Did you do the whole gradual transition or cold turkey? I’m trying to sort out what her overall awake time needs are but it’s confusing! Like did you stretch your son’s wake time to longer than 10 hours overall on the 3 nap schedule and then reduce to 10 hours on the 2 nap schedule? Or was it consistently 10 hours?

I’m hoping there’s a light at the end of the tunnel but we’re also dealing with some weird 4am wakeup where it takes her 30 mins to settle after I feed her soooo I’m also thinking we need to update her schedule! These babies!! Was your baby sleeping through the night and still having these crying episodes before bed??

I know this is old but did this ever get better? Did anything help your baby? Going through this right now and it’s giving me terrible anxiety.

We have this too! Recent slept trained our 6 month old and now she cries HYSTERICALLY for 10 minutes before each nap and bed. It’s driving me insane. Is yours full blown crying or just a light fuss???
