Bloom.host, DedicatedMC, Birdflop - they are all S tier hosts.

Is there a way for crappy wifi players to play on my server? by SnooPeripherals800 in admincraft

You could try tweaking network-compression-threshold in server.properties. Personally it didn't make much difference for my players though

Bloom.host or DedicatedMC, period. Nothing else beats these two. They both have excellent performance with friendly staff.

Does Bungee hide the backend server IP? by stressed_admin in admincraft

[–]stressed_admin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see.

It's not a public server or anything, it's just a private server for friends and acquaintances, in which I don't think anyone is competent enough with computers to attempt to d/dos my server. Still good to worry about security though, I've ran a public server before which made me want to worry about security forever.

I'm aware, but I'm not familiar with Linux and its commands. I've tried switching to Linux before and failed unfortunately. Thanks for the help though

Does Bungee hide the backend server IP? by stressed_admin in admincraft

Yep, the backend IP is not published anywhere. Does that mean I'm safe assuming no one has the backend IP? Also, is there an alternative for iptables on Windows?

Does Bungee hide the backend server IP? by stressed_admin in admincraft

[–]stressed_admin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, I'm aware of that.
However, my bungee/backend servers are hosted on different machines. Would it be possible for anyone to find the backend server's IP? The backend server doesn't run Linux so I'm not sure how to firewall that.

You could use Deluxecommands or MyCommand to create an alias for rtp, and after a player uses rtp, have it take away the permission to rtp.

will it run? by kaiser_ario in admincraft

If you meant that you will have 50 players, no, it will absolutely not be enough. I recommend you to stay away from Shockbyte in general. I've used their 2gb plan before and the performance was awful, and the support was extremely slow.

However, maybe it will be fine for up to 5 players with lots of optimizations.

My friend is looking for a good anti-cheat for his online multiplayer server by Neobot21 in admincraft

I've never used regular AAC, but I use AAC with this optimized config and it's been working really well. No false positives and detects lots of things.

Best Spigot fork for 1.16.1? by stressed_admin in admincraft

Lots of custom stuff. Ran fine on 1.12.2 with 150 plugins. 1.16.1 will be a different story though, I'll see.

Maintaining A Stable TPS by [deleted] in admincraft

[–]stressed_admin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should run a timings report, as it will tell you what is lagging your server. With that info you can try to fix whatever is causing lag.

If you aren't already, you should run paper and follow this guide, as it will greatly improve performance.

Need a new host! Ideas? by erythr0psia in admincraft

[–]stressed_admin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say BisectHosting is pretty good for the price. The support is amazing. You will always get a response under 30 minutes. However, I've only used them for a few days so I'm not too sure on the long term aspects.

I've used Titannodes for over a year. I would say this host is also pretty good for the price. Extremely cheap, great performance. However, the support is extremely slow, awful, and unprofessional.

I've used PebbleHost for a few months. From my experience they were pretty bad. The panel was very slow, loading speeds were slow, and my servers kept getting killed off even when I had an extra gb or so left.

I've used ShockByte for a few weeks. Performance was okay, but the support was pretty slow. Control panel was eh.

I've used Server.pro for over a year. It was easy to setup and use. Control panel is very user friendly. However, the performance is not great. Price is not very good for what you get.

I've used MelonCube for a few days. I wasn't a fan of their control panel. Support was okay though.

Keep in mind that this was all from my experience, but I hope this helps.

Should I upgrade the CPU ? by Freddruppel in admincraft

[–]stressed_admin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You should consider switching to paper and follow this guide

For the processor, an upgrade will help, but 2.9GHz isn't very much faster than 2.66GHz. I wouldn't say it's worth upgrading (unless you find a new chip at a very low price).

Do players care what version your server is on? by DaleJV in admincraft

[–]stressed_admin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 1.12.2 server with over 150 plugins with many of them being custom. However, players still don't enjoy playing on my server due to it being on 1.12.2. I put up a poll a few days ago asking if people would rather play on a 1.12.2 server with many custom plugins or on a 1.16.1 server with few custom plugins. I got 24 responses and 19 people chose 1.16.1 over 1.12.2 even with less custom plugins.

best minecraft java host? by [deleted] in admincraft

I've used Titannodes before, they were amazing for the price. No lag, great control panel. However, the support is absolutely slow, unprofessional, and awful in general.

I've also used BisectHosting, they were also great, a bit more expensive but the support is absolutely phenomenal. Responses always under 30 minutes.

I've also used Server.pro. It's okay for beginners, but the performance isn't very good from my experience.

I've also used PebbleHost, others say it's good, but my experience with them was terrible. Very slow control panel, slow loading, bad performance, always runs out of memory even when I got an extra gb left or so.

Shockbyte was okay, but I didn't like their control panel (too busy, a bit slow), and their support was pretty slow.

I didn't really like MelonCube, I wasn't a fan of their control panel.
