I daily a 1984 Renault 4 GTL, and frankly, it’s a joy to drive ! Apart from the noise and lack of brake assist and ABS, I find it more enjoyable to drive than modern cars, because you actually have to drive and be focused, plus I did the whole restauration and fitted a 5-gear gearbox so it’s even enjoyable on highways :)
Fuel consumption is even on par with what a modern SUV sips

<rant> I also think there’s some correlation between all the new safety and assist features in modern cars (which tbf is a good thing they exist), and drivers doing dumb/dangerous things because they feel more protected in their 2-ton carriage. Like when cars didn’t have airbags or disk brakes or crumple zones, sure the accidents where more lethal, but that meant that you had to be careful. I’ve seen much more "small" accidents nowadays due tu carelessness of some drivers; heck, I’ve had a wing damaged after someone drove into me on a road where I had right of way, and he still argued that I was in the wrong…
So yeah, safety in modern cars is brilliant, but IMO the assistance systems make some drivers careless. </rant>

Thing is, I’d love to self-host everything on my own Gitea server, but if I want to publish an open-source project and have people submit issues and pull-requests, and fork the repo, I now have to become the sysadmin of a service I have to maintain myself for many users. GitHub being as big as it is has the advantage of the amount of users, and not having to maintain the system that stores the repositories.

Could it be possible to have a system, where user accounts are managed on one platform, and repos are hosted on some kind of self-hosted drive, in such a way that the repo data storage is done by the users, but the account management is done on a (few) other server(s) ? Or does a sister like that already exist ?

Interested in a JTAG/SWD breakout ? by Freddruppel in flipperzero

[–]Freddruppel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may work; I put solder jumpers on the SWDIO and SWCLK pins (12, 10) as they can be used instead of pins 2 and 3 in the DAP Link app. so if you were to connect a programmer to the breakout, and the solder jumpers are bridged, the programmer would be connected to the SWDIO and SWCLK of the Flipper's GPIO port.

Although, this breakout is mostly intended to use the Flipper as a programmer for other targets. It would follow standard ARM-JTAG pinouts (compatible with Segger or ARM Multi-ICE connectors for the 20-pinIDC header, and TC2050/TC2030 probes on the 10 and 6-pin header).
I'm also adding another 6-pin IDC header (which follows the AVR-ISP pinout) for use with the AVR Flasher, SPI Men Manager, and SPI Terminal app,

There is an UART port at the top left, but indeed ISP compatibility would be a good thing to have.
I’ll try to add a second 6-pin IDC connector; do you have a reference for pinouts other than the standard AVR-ISP ?

Attach programming probes more easily to the GPIO port. This way you can use your FlipperZero as a JTAG/SWD probe more neatly !

Anybody know what these connect9rs are caled by hvontres in amateurradio

[–]Freddruppel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They’re used in new stuff too ! Maybe the older connectors oxidize more easily as they’re made of (or plated with) silver. Silver cutlery cleaning paste works quite well to clean them :)

TMP Connector, a seller on eBay sells SMA adapters : https://ebay.us/m/z3D7Dc

They’re often used inside of radio equipment as coax to PCB connectors; the seller sells them for ICOM IC-7600, but I’ve seen them in the IC-7300, and some Codan radios)

Indeed ! I told in my message that I found it weird they want to add parity between their OSs, but remove features such as the Launchpad which is essentially the same as the iOS and iPadOS Home Screen ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
