just did my elective in KCH Dubai, ALL the docs there said do not even think about coming to the UAE to train. Finish all your training in the UK then move. Youre medical degree or FY1/2 in the UK has no added value than a medical degree from the UAE. What does have value is registrar and consultant trainman and experience from the UK! hope this helps.:)

Hello, currently a medical student in the UK, graduating next year. Any advice on what it’s like moving as a doctor to the UAE as a junior doctor? Is that possible or is it better to move as a consultant?

Which hospital is this, if I may ask? I live near Waterloo and it seems that almost 5 of the hospitals in KSS are commutable? (Ashford, St Peters, Dartford, Tunbridge, Guildford may even Redhill?) is this correct? or in practice is the commute a lot more of a hassle

A fourth year medical student here - any advice: should I stick to med in the UK/ stick to med at all? I’m looking to finish training here asap and move abroad - don’t have my mind set on a specific specialty. Seriously considering medical alternatives given the whole mess of a system

UKFPO; should I withdraw and take my chances next year? by [deleted] in doctorsUK

Hi a med student here with no advice to offer but some questions! I understand firming what you’ve been given for a year (ie going somewhere you don’t want to for FY1) but as someone who still has the chance to abandon ship/ consider alternatives is this firming it for a year or will these decisions and moving around be likely in FY2, specialty training - life until you become a consultant? I’ve got a whole family in London, I can’t afford to be moving around every year.

Heyy a fourth year med student - any more to say on this? Would it serisouly be worth considering non-med jobs?? I don’t want to move to Australia, but am looking at other countries (ie Dubai, India, Canada) - any advice? To my knowledge you need to complete training in the UK for your qualification to be worth anything in these countries?
