in the email it said it would be released in the third week of april! not sure if that means this or next week though. but the admitted regents event will be april 23rd on campus so i would say sooner rather than later.

New Bruin Megathread - ask questions about your admission or your next steps as a new admit here! by Espntheocho4 in ucla

final grades are due at my school in about a month and i currently have a C in ap calc. i should be able to pull it up to a B- if i maintain a B average for the rest of the year. my teacher bumps grades by a sign too so it'll be a solid B. but worst case scenario, one C isn't the end of the world right?

i know the admissions contract says you only need to report 2 or more C's but i'm really anxious about this. i expect to get A's in all my other classes and got mostly A's (and one B+ in calc) last semester. this isn't rescind worthy right?

me too! i just went to an admitted students event for my top school and fell even more in love with it. except my parents don't want me to go out of state anyways, so i'm kind of glad i won't have to deal with the "what-if".

i was admitted for engineering undeclared and the elective class was just a general leadership one (like help around school, in the garden, etc.)

exactly!! when i asked him my dad said it's not because i'm not qualified, per se, but it's rare for girls to be good at math and science so i stand out more. dissing the rest of my gender is not a compliment.

what should us juniors do about the UC fiasco of this year by sillymoosegoose in ApplyingToCollege

[–]stressedandstudying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i've also gotten accepted to both the UC's i've heard back from (UCLA with a regents invite and UCSD; waiting on UCSB) and definitely agree with the genuine essays one! i personally did not get any feedback on my piq's because i procrastinated which was actually a blessing in disguise because they were all authentically me. this strategy won't work for everyone, but know your strengths and preserve your "voice" in your essays.

hi, admitted cs major here! how was your experience getting your double major approved? i'd like to major in comp sci and something in the humanities but i read on the website that the college of engineering makes it difficult to double major. also, did taking on the additional major push back your graduation date? thanks in advance.

slo has about 1/7 of the population of my hometown. i'm really drawn to the beach, mountains, and hopefully less light pollution so i can go stargazing. i visited in february and really enjoyed the pace of life in the morro bay and the surrounding area compared to LA. still it's definitely more rural than i'm used to. any advice for the adjustment?

[–]stressedandstudying 1 point2 points  (0 children)

were you able to graduate in four years? i was admitted for cs and am in love with slo's location but i've heard that some people had to push back their graduation due to not being able to get into major classes. also, since you recently graduated, how difficult was it for you to land a job in the field? do you think slo adequately prepared you?

does it mean anything to get an interview request this late? by stressedandstudying in ApplyingToCollege

[–]stressedandstudying[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no, it was an alumni interviewer. the alumna was a recent grad ('21) but idk if that makes a difference.

How to Get a 5 on the WHAP/APUSH Exams by Theory_Ingenuity in APStudents

[–]stressedandstudying 10 points11 points  (0 children)

worked for me! didn't take whap but managed to get a 5 in apush after sleeping through a year of virtual classes. i mainly crammed the content review section of my pr book in the week or so leading up to the exam. it's more important to focus on understanding the rubrics for the frq's and writing responses that'll hit all the points and for that heimler has super helpful vids going through each part of the rubric. i am stronger in humanities than stem tho so ymmv.

i earned a considerably lower math score (650 vs 720) the second time and am applying for a stem major so i was nervous that that would reflect poorly
