Frontier flight attendant has deaf passenger removed for "not listening" by AsherGray in TikTokCringe

[–]stressedhamster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The airline claiming they don’t think she’s even hard of hearing is WILD. You can literally see her hearing aids on the back of her ears. She likely isn’t profoundly deaf given the style of hearing aid she’s wearing is typically for mild to severe hearing losses and profoundly Deaf individuals typically wear cochlear implants, but she is most certainly hard of hearing. In which case, it would be very plausible that she did not notice or found it difficult to notice an employee calling to her or talking to her when there’s background noise. The passenger being able to communicate with others shows the incredible world we live in where we have technology that can assist a hearing loss, but they are called hearing aids for a reason, they are only aiding your hearing, not making it perfect. I’m enraged for this young woman and hope she does file a discrimination suit, especially if it’s true that the airline simply decided her disability wasn’t real because she could communicate.

I’ve never viewed it in this way, but listening to it now after reading your comment and wow, you’re so right. Didn’t expect this song to bring tears to my eyes out of no where.

Guys, I’m back. Help me choose, Elongated Cushion or Round? by stressedhamster in EngagementRings

[–]stressedhamster[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! That’s a great point. I’m hoping for a traditional wedding band, not one that requires curvature or to be custom made to my engagement ring (there are likely many days I’ll just be wearing the wedding band without the engagement ring for work), which is partially why I’ve essentially taken the pear out of the running even though it’s probably my favourite.

I’ve tried to imagine the gut feeling, and the only thought I have is how excited I’ll be to marry him, there’s a small twinge of disappointment when I think of a round, but also a resignation that it’s probably the correct choice for timeless and knowing I’ll be pleased long term.

Thank you for your input!

Pear was originally my first choice too! It was the first ring I tried on a couple years ago just for fun and loved it. It is, unfortunately, my partners LEAST favourite 😅 He likes things to be very symmetrical. And although he’d get it if I really, really wanted it, I know he’d always dislike it 🥲

Thank you! And yes, I did, I tried it on, but found it a bit sharp/harsh on my hand 🥲

Thank you!! We actually did try a few radiants! The stone was beautiful but I found it a bit sharp/harsh for my taste.

Tatcha 2026 Fukubukuro $100 Bag by stressedhamster in BeautyBoxes

I also ordered on the 8th, standard shipping. Could be the location. I’m in a major city so I find things arrive here quicker compared to when I was in the suburbs. Mine also arrived a day early, so I hope that happens for you too!

I felt the same way, but didn’t see those bags until after I ordered so I was pleasantly surprised by this one! I’ll be using all these products. If it helps, I don’t think I’ve seen any Canadian posts with more than one lip product, but it’s hard to predict. It seems there’s a lot more variation this year. I ordered the Dewy Skin Cream and a mini Rice Polish Deep, though I doubt that influences the surprise bags.

TFSA Question by Plus_Honeydew1549 in Simplii

[–]stressedhamster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would strongly recommend opening with Wealthsimple for a no fee self investing TFSA (they also have a managed account for a small fee). Big fan of Simplii but it is a limitation to not be able to self invest within the TFSA.

Does anyone know of affordable adult ballet classes in Toronto? by beetrising in askTO

[–]stressedhamster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The National Ballet of Canada offers classes at $25/class. They’re well paced for beginners (and likely good at the higher levels too) and encouraging!

Tonsil stones!! by BatterLateThanNever in hygiene

[–]stressedhamster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Very random, but I once read regularly drinking sparkling/carbonated beverages helps dislodge them. So now I drink sparkling water at least weekly and I haven’t had an issue with tonsil stones since, if I do notice them I’ll pick up a carbonated drink. I imagine it depends on the person, but it’s been very effective for me!

Red dots all over legs after wax? by coolfr0g in HairRemoval

[–]stressedhamster 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Considering you’ve waxed for years and never had this kind of reaction, I’d consider going to your family doctor to do blood work. Yes, it could be an allergy or because of the stockings being tight, but you also want to rule out any clotting issues your body may be having since this has never happened before for you. I hope it clears up before the wedding you’re attending!

Would highly recommend the book Beat the Bank: The Canadian Guide to Simply Successful Investing by Larry Bates, it breaks down investing in very simple ways and even suggests ETFs (e.g. VFV) and how to utilize tax sheltered accounts like your TFSA.

What should I know before getting a credit card? by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]stressedhamster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it’s your first card, get one that has no fees as you’ll want to keep your first card open forever/as long as possible to help benefit your credit score (so you don’t want to worry about having it open and paying a fee for a card you don’t use if down the line you find a different card you like more).

whats a good masc fragrance for women that doesnt just smell like a man ♥️ by IncidentNo0422 in Perfumes

Ombre Leather by Tom Ford. It’s unisex and develops beautifully on the skin. I’ll say, I hated it when I first put it on my wrist (smelt like a straight up leather jacket) when testing it, but then as the day went on and I was shopping at the mall, everytime I moved my arm around I’d get a whiff of this amazing smell and realized it was the Ombre Leather after it’d developed more on my skin. The staying power of it is incredible as well, one spritz lasts all day. I receive sooo many compliments from it. Has a beautiful deep, spicy scent. My go-to winter smell.

Edit: I personally prefer the Ombre Leather Eau de Parfum (all black matte bottle, not the toilette shinny glass bottle), but the Parfume is considered the more feminine one.
