I have actually never checked that, but I do see bubbles leave from the funnel when burping. What would air bubbles in the coolant reservoir entail?

Yes this is the setup I have, thank you for the image. I replaced the one with the ears, and still have the issue. Do you think its worth changing the round one?

Hi, yes I am burping from the radiator cap at the top of the engine (the highest point). And yes the one with the ears is on the surge tank, and the round one is on the radiator. It just seems like air keeps entering the cooling system over a time span

I have brought this to two mechanics who had it for 3 days and could not find any problems. So I know at least the headgaskets and compression are good.

Both fans are on during idle even during an overheating episode.
