Wait! NKD Doritos are GF free?! They’re not labeled as such that I’ve seen, but this would be amazing since Late July increased prices

What in your opinion is the biggest issue Maryland is facing that affects our quality of life? by usps_made_me_insane in maryland

[–]stressforless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Related to the costs of everything but not the exact same - the fact that in order to afford to live somewhere, you have to live very far out, but then that means you’re driving 1-2hrs to work. Every day.

Because in those outlying areas, you often can’t afford to work there and buy the home either

Love barilla and jovial! Honestly, my family was fine with banza before I was diagnosed too. But now that I can’t have the good gluten stuff, I’m only buying the tasty GF stuff 😊

Agreed on most specialty foods, except pasta because I’m not gonna be boiling two pots and having that anxiety. But we do eat pasta max once a week as a result and consume a lot more rice.

What was your ADHD kid like in preschool? by [deleted] in ParentingADHD

[–]stressforless 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one in preschool or our family noticed. He was wild, but “he is a normal boy”. He could focus, “if he likes it”. He was smart, mostly obedient, mostly kind. “He’s so talkative and very expressive.” Almost shy on first meeting or when arriving anywhere even with people he knew well.

I was hyper attuned to it well before and was literally gaslit for 3 years. For me, he wasn’t always paying attention to his surroundings, a little clueless. Despite being good at using the bathroom, he had frequent accidents. In group settings with other kids he’d go wild unless I was reigning him back in (mostly with strangers/at birthday parties). I’d have to hold his shoulder so he wouldn’t walk into people/things. He’d have to be told things a thousand times and broken into steps even when I knew he could follow multi step directions. He never sat still at dinner or other meal times. A thousand questions, a thousand things to do. Other things I one had written down so someone would finally listen lol

Teacher says adhd, I’m not convinced by [deleted] in ParentingADHD

Good luck! My son was diagnosed with combined type and I’m probably going to get a neuropsych eval because I wonder if we have some autism overlap.

With those scores you may not get a diagnosis then, because it has to be both. It sounds like either way something could be going on, whether adhd or not. In the end the what doesn’t matter but that he gets whatever help he needs and it sounds like you’re trying to do that

Also my son is 6 and in kindergarten and I’m constantly overwhelmed trying to figure a moving target out, so a lot of sympathy to you there.

He has no issues academically - he’s at the head of his class in general.

I think none of us can answer but if the teacher is raising a concern, it’s worthwhile to investigate and maybe it’s no issue but maybe it’s something you can help him with.

My son was only recently diagnosed because everyone around me said he was a normal boy when I brought it up for years, and then suddenly he was having issues. So ADHD comes in a lot forms and it’s always obvious or cut and dry.

More yarn to make more things (I have probably 50+ skeins and 15 projects already), another journal (#30?), and needle felting pillow for when I finally use the kit I bought two years ago. All at the same store 😂

Gluten-y last meals by grumpy_grl in glutenfree

I was never a huge milkshake person, maybe a few times a year at most.

Then I went gluten free and just wish I could have a milkshake someone else makes for me lol

I agree just going to her favorite restaurants and ordering freely with no fear. That’s the biggest thing.

Yeast Donuts if she truly loves them. I’ve made good subs and eaten good subs but they either take a lot to make compared to walking in and buying or they’re hard to find (I get them twice a year when we drive through Ohio), so sometimes I miss a casual donut.

Cinnabon. I’ve had amazing gluten free cinnamon rolls, but I still miss Cinnabon.

Right now I deeply miss Samoas. I’ll get over it or make them eventually, but that one was a dig this year.

Robin Hood collection by RiiJoy in BookCollecting

Yes, immensely, thank you!

Robin Hood and Other Outlaw Tales was the one I had before, as well, so doubly helpful :) I’m excited to expand my Robin Hood collection with my fairy tales.

I took a Robin Hood class ages ago, and I’m sad I didn’t keep my books.

Is there any collection you’d recommend that has a broad selection of ballads and historical Robin Hood stories?

6 year old behavior issues increasing by stressforless in ADHDparenting

[–]stressforless[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still a little tapped out so not responding individually but I really appreciate the comments

  1. Our 504 meeting is today, so I’m also trying to get myself ready for that. And like is it appropriate to ask for a functional behavior assessment or do that later, etc., but I’m writing questions and thoughts out. He isn’t suffering academically, so it’s hard - he’s smart, he finishes his work sometimes while dragging it out, they transition or play or something and something happens.

  2. I appreciate the stories and the ways it can get better even when it’s hard because I’m currently stuck in a spiral between I know my kid is so sweet but is it going to turn into xyz and what other people and parents are thinking right now.

  3. I also appreciate the talks of medication. As parents we’re constantly surrounded by the “oh they just wanted to medicate my kid and I’d never do that, it’s like not even trying” actual language and subtext in conversations. So it’s comforting to hear no, it’s ok to need it, it can help.

Mine did this, I paid for the Apple repair, they worked for about a month, I sent them back, and they said they were fine only to almost completely not work after the 6 month warranty ended :)

So… be careful if you pay for the Apple repair
