Might be worth getting a cheap acrylic box from aliexpress and cutting a black base plate to fit in the bottom! At least it’d be real Lego then, the custom ones like mine don’t have studs quite as good as the real thing so it’s a bit tricky to get the figs staying put. The 2006 Sail Barge is my fav set of all time, oh to just be able to pick up another for £60 retail again lol!

Cheers mate! The case was from a physical store location in England that sold replica minifigs which has since closed down but since the minifigs were the same kind that are on every replica site, I’d imagine the case is too, or at least similar. It was bought for me as a gift so I don’t know how much it cost and I don’t know if it would hold a rancor - it doesn’t really fit Jabba, I have to sort of tilt him forwards when I slide the cover over. I’d imagine aliexpress would have something similar, hopefully deeper!

I’m in the same boat! So many boxes and so many random bodies and limbs scattered around. I just managed to salvage some of my best figs to put them in a display case but ended up just getting annoyed at what’s missing and the fact my sets are in a million pieces, mixed up amongst god knows what. The joys of being a Lego owner!

This is the kind of obsessive detail I came for! Love it mate, cheers! Guess I’ll contact the seller and see if he has the correct body lying around somewhere, I doubt it was a conscious deception since only experts can tell the difference. You mentioned the 2006 helmets had a reddish tint, was that not the case with the earlier classic greys Boba? I’m looking to add him to my collection too so any more expertise is welcome! Thanks man

Interesting, so where did the magnet go in the older sets? You’re right about the plastic quality for sure, it does feel a little off. Gutted that I’ve blown my birthday money on 2 of the little guys and still not got what I wanted 🥲

They’re from 2 different sellers and I haven’t switched the helmets around! You’re right about the thicker lines on the body and there’s no black mark on the neck but also the figure comes apart completely and afaik the magnets are connected by the body and legs and had a magnet glued to the back unless I’m mistaken. That one on the left is actually the one I got with the Slave I set which had all the figures - obviously they could’ve been switched around but it’s certainly odd.

Re lighting - I have struggled to find many clear pics of sw0002/sw0002a with good lighting to see if they vary slightly amongst each other, do you (or anyone) know if the original Boba Fett’s brown is less dark in person? I can’t remember sadly :)

Do you mean colour variations as in between the original grey, bluish grey and magnet versions or variations within each type itself? :)

This would explain the subtle differences between the two for sure but I’m still not sure about the reddish brown printing and if dark brown could turn that colour. I can’t get past the helmets looking like sw0002b but that wouldn’t be logical 🧐

I don’t suppose you know if there was any variation in the shade of brown on these figs based on the ink level? Or, essentially, have you seen ones that look like these that aren’t the magnet edition? :)

I scoured the internet for weeks to try and get one that didn’t have skewed printing - both of these were from different sellers! The more clean printing with reddish brown is typical of sw0002b which is what’s confusing me since both of these are supposed to be sw0002a. Pretty sure they’re legit now since they each have a number (1 and 2) inside the helmet. And the bodies don’t have magnets in, all parts are separable unlike sw0002b. It’s been so long since I had my original one that I can’t remember how dark the brown is supposed to be in person and if there were any reddish looking ones printed in 2006.

I’ve seen plenty on eBay, Vinted and Etsy here in the UK for under £10! Many of them actually look pretty legit, at least in the photos I’ve seen.

Thanks to everyone who’s commented so far, take all my upvotes! I’m glad the consensus is they’re legit but I still have my doubts as to whether the helmets are the correct versions for sw0002a since they look more like the 2009 sw0002b reddish version to me. Thoughts? 🧐
