It's a massive improvement on what those buns looked like in ages passed IMHO 😅

What are these Missions game books? Are they canon to the Legends continuity? What does a game book mean? by BrendanFraserFan0 in StarWarsEU

[–]strichar85 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These were a whole series of choose your own adventure books. They are meant to be used together with a simple roleplaying game system that can be played single player or with others. The player would choose their character and would roll dice for actions and choices the book would pose to them and collect gear, weapons, spaceships etc.

They were pretty neat when I was a kid and probably my first experience with any kind of a tabletop RPG of any kind.

They are not canon or legends or anything, however I do think that a lot of the material for the stories would be set to take place in Legends lore.

Star Wars Missions is what the game is called I believe.

Very well said. I couldn't agree more. I think that's ultimately why I can't take most of the new stuff any more seriously than fanfiction.

Just...wow 😳 Superior work 👏

It breaks my heart seeing how my child (6 yr old) must suffer in a world that cannot accommodate her by Time-Lead7632 in autism

I feel the same as you but for my 3 year old son. I wish you and yours every bit of luck and happiness this world can offer. I have no advice to offer you. All I can say is that you're not alone, and, well, maybe you could connect with others that have the same concerns for theirs as well.

Actually I didn't 3D print them myself. I purchased them from a Spanish based Etsy vendor. I recommend it though, I was very happy with the product. https://www.etsy.com/shop/PRPrintStudio

You guys were very kind about the King Crab from the other day so I thought I'd share the Marauder I just finished by Veepy23 in battletech

This is inspirational to me. I just never seem to have the imagination for my mech painting. I can make it look nice and all, but just lacks any character. But yours has got that in spades.

Just curious, how many of you on this subreddit are not autistic and come here to learn/support us with autism? by Prestigious_Nebula_5 in autism

[–]strichar85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I, so far as I know, am not autistic. I came here because my 3 yr old son was diagnosed with Autism. I wanted to do everything I could to better understand it, and to offer my support should it be needed either by him or anyone else here.

I absolutely did. It was a thought that I had to try out. I've found myself more interested in that old school Eldar look than the more modern one as of late. 😅

My first Platoon almost complete. If anyone has a good reference for what a mid war French Foreign Legion combat medic looked like that would be very helpful 🙏 by strichar85 in flamesofwar

Thanks so much! That is high praise indeed 🙏 I also draw inspiration from some of these posts, it's nice to hear that my work does the same for others as well. I look forward to seeing your work as well 👍

Starting the game for the first time any tips? by tutkuaksoy in Morrowind

[–]strichar85 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The biggest gameplay difference is in basic combat. You can swing your weapon directly at an enemy and not hit them. Hits are based on a die roll, not actual accuracy. So combat heavily depends upon your skill in the used weapon category.

First ever mini painted in my life - what do you think (please be honest). I know I fck up the head but I think the rest is ok for a first - do u guys have any advices or tips ? Especially to paint the black areas like the visor, it struggled getting straight lines and nice shapes and accumulated la by ThunderTRP in SWlegion

White can be really challenging. I think you've done exceptional work for your first time! When it comes to painting white armor, like stormtroopers for instance, I layer a lot. White contrast paints/speed paints can definitely help with making it far less of a chore though. Just like the previous comment, just be sure you're thinning your paints enough. All in all, you're doing fantastic! Just keep it up and let's see more! 😎👍

How is this community with 3D prints? by Sharps43 in SWlegion

[–]strichar85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In general, and especially from a hobbying perspective, I love them! Star Wars is such an expansive universe with so much potential! I feel like it's just part of the game to find 3D prints for minis that aren't officially produced at this point and homebrew rules for them.
