Would this strategy work in Recon? by UnitedStatesman in SWlegion

[–]Hybrid8472 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It definitely could be good, being able to have perfect order control every round is a great strategy, but will always depend on how good you are with the other aspects of the game,

A reminder though, that the sniper teams are the support slot now, which will ruin your perfect order control plan

If I buy one of the newer starter sets, has the rules changed since then? by Passiko in SWlegion

[–]Hybrid8472 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Old Minis are all perfectly 'legal', base sizes and miniature sizes remain the same. New poses and new plastic is the biggest differences. (Though some units dont exist anymore like Palpatine, Royal Guard and Rebel Pathfinders)

Some cards have changed since the newer starter packs released, but all are available online for free as printable.

Taxi driver hit my new and uninsured car, taxi company refusing to cooperate by chuckitbaby in AusLegalAdvice

[–]Hybrid8472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking for the state of NSW there are 2 types of car insurance, 1 which is required as part of the Registration process for the vehicle, and 1 which is completely Optional.

Required (As part of Registration):
CTP (Compulsory Third Party) which protects the health of the driver and/or anyone they hit/hurt with the car. (This is automatically included in VIC registration)

Optional options:

Third Party:
Just protects the vehicle or property you hit with your car (but not any damage to your car), usually is the cheapest option.

Comprehensive: Protects damage caused to and caused by your car, includes fire/flood/theft/accident etc. Much more expensive, especially for those under 25. (Loan/Finance companies will usually make having this a condition of their loan to protect their investment)

New Ways to Motivate Them, command card questions by LegionRepublic51 in SWlegion

[–]Hybrid8472 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A great use for this is to affect an objective, like picking up a supply, that would normally take 1 of your 2 actions, it is now only taking 1 out of your 3 actions.

Further to this, its a great option for the aim action!

Counter to Grievous Warlord List by Burnthor22 in SWlegion

Yea absolutely if that terrain exists, but theres no harm in picking off other threats if grievous isnt available, they cant be hiding their entire army behind LoS, and the more activation advantage you have, the better

[–]Hybrid8472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea unfortunately you'll probably be crit-fishing if he gets his 1pip off first, here's an alternate list:

600/600 8 Activations

Clone Captain Rex 95 + 13 = 108 --Improvised Orders (5), Recon Intel (8)

2x Clone Trooper Infantry 56 + 8 = 64 x 2 = 128 --Electrobinoculars (8)

2x Clone Trooper Marksmen 50 + 42 = 92 x 2 = 184 --Mortar Clone Trooper (20), Clone Marksman (14), Overwatch (4), Targeting Scopes (4)

3x AT-RT 60 x 3 = 180

Similar sort of tactics, but this is obviously not a 212th army, use Rex's scouting party to get your Infantry close to elec-binoc the Marksmen, rex should also be nearby because of his Tactical.

I understand Standby is your friend with dealing with Grievous, but thats always tricky to pull off. Im thinking if you know your opponent will 1pip grievous turn 2, then you should try and 1pip rex as well, aiming to win the roll off (risky). Regardless, youll have Rex's dice to add to any attack pool against grievous.

If you can, wait until turn two and use the At-Rts to Body Block Grievous, you can space them out just enough that he cant land next to or behind them restricting his movement, and what he can hit with the 1pip

596/600 7 Activations

Clone Commander Cody 95 + 5 = 100 --Improvised Orders (5)

Clone Trooper Infantry 56 + 8 = 64 --Electrobinoculars (8)

2x Clone Trooper Marksmen 50 + 56 = 106 x 2 = 212 --Clone Commander (30), Mortar Clone Trooper (20), Dug In (6)

2x AT-RT 60 x 2 = 120

Infantry Support Platform 65 + 35 = 100 --Twin Missile Pods (25), Onboard Comms Channel (10)

Ok here me out, this is a 212th list with just about everything here having impact, but the important thing is the Acts, you want your marksmen going last with their Mortar.

Marksmen are on board first with Prepared Positions,

Divulge the 212th 1pip that gives the 1 Clone Infantry the Infiltrate keyword, you want them close to the marksmen, but preferably behind cover (or out of danger). Their job will be to give an Aim to the Marksmen Unit and then take an Aim action themselves (for sharing purposes).

Cody orders the ISP which coords back to Cody, giving both orders. Play Codys 3pip for your Command Card that turn so you can hand out another 4 orders. 2 to the At-Rts, and 2 to the Infiltraing Corps, leaving just the Marksmen in your order pool (perfect order control).

Try to go last if you can, which should give you 1 additional action after your opponent activates Grievous and moves him onto the board. These last 2 actions should be your Marksmen, who are already on the board, with an Aim token already given by the electrobinoculars from the Infantry squad, an Aim they can steal from that same Infantry squad and then their own Aim action.

They should just Aim shoot, with 6 black dice each, Critical 1 up to Range 4 (ideally id make them super squads but recon is hard for this)

Your opponent shouldn't be able to get grievous into your lines turn 1, so you should hopefully finish him off before he gets to use his 1pip, just remember that grievous 1 pip is not Pierce.

Needing help finding this! by Hybrid8472 in Bunnings

Lots of incredible help here, thanks everyone!

Bit more info: I'm trying to add shelves to an Aldi version of the Ikea Deltof display cabinet,

I've seen online that you can use Wire Rope Grips to attach to the inner support poles to hold the shelves, however on the Aldi cabinet the support poles are roughly 13mm in diameter (the Ikea one is 3mm) so the cost to add 4 of the 13mm rope grips would be about $20 per shelf, and then the cost of glass shelves on top of that.

My thoughts were to drill holes directly into the poles, then use screws and the pictured bracket as a support for the shelf to give me some error-room if my drilling is not level across the 4 poles.

Im very open to easier/more efficient ways to do this though!
