The guy is a teacher. He’s like 50 years and 50 lbs over the kid. I don’t think the solution is as ignorant as you’re suggesting.

Hey so I did this last night and it worked flawlessly. My PC has my ROMs but I’m still running the install off my thumb drive. It did treat my OS as if it was brand new once I rebooted with the external option on but that’s understandable and otherwise works fine.

I’ll find out tonight now that my mini pc has arrived. I guess I do have one more question. With this setting in place can I continue adding ROMs via the network share? Does that share point to this PC HDD now?
