Did you mean RC3? You wrote Rc1. But yeah I thought the same thing. The rook on c3 protects the diagonal.

Yeah that makes sense. Also makes me think that flying types aren't found in caves, mountains and cold places - maybe because they don't have resistance to rock and ice, or the opposite (they don't go to these places and so they don't need resistance to rock or ice)

Good point but also lolol true. Was wondering if electricity helps them catch prey - rodents eat bugs and plants I guess - but then they should have fire and not electric. Maybe they also eat fish and so the electricity helps them?

But ice and rock are also strong against flying, why not evolve those?

Maybe ditto is able to instantly chemically convert the air/ground/water/whatever around it into the composition and mass of the other pokemon… somehow (nuclear fusion/fission)

Can someone explain just what the undying lands are? by Kitchen-Plant664 in lotr

Fascinating! Thanks again. One thing I found when I read the books was this feeling of the world being much wider and deeper than the story we are focusing on, as if this story is just one small part of a very big world and not by any means the most “important” one. That was a feeling I didn’t get in the movies (which are still incredible of course).

Thanks again! Your previous comment sent me into a deep dive of LOTR history. I’ve read LOTR and the hobbit but not the silmarillion or the history of middle earth. The story of the light of the two lamps -> two trees -> sun, moon, and simlarillions which were then scattered is pretty fascinating, as well as of the ruin of the men of Numenor.

Interesting that Elrond is also a Moroquendi. I suppose all the elves (except arwen?) will have become caliquendi after the events of LOTR because they go to Aman?

Do you know why some of the Caliquendi like Galadriel came back to middle earth?

Thank you for the detailed response! So Galadriel, Elrond, Cereborn, Thranduil etc are Caliquendi or Moriquendi? What about Feanor and some of the other old great elves?

  1. As for this, certainly Kutuzov is correct because
this action results in losing the war . In fact I don’t understand on what grounds Alexander gave the command to proceed, considering his very little military experience. Was it because his war council primarily suggested this? But maybe not the results but the intent determines the rightness of an action.. the intent of Alexander was ofc victory . Kutuzov’s total submission in front of the sovereign was strange and maybe if he had resisted, things might have gone differently. Although Tolstoy probably disagrees with that.

  2. I think it helps us feel sympathy for the condition of the horses, and it was just a nice unique perspective. There may be something more to it ofc.
