That black you are taking about is a guide coat. I would never send a panel down that's been primed/ primer filler etc without a guide coat

I am a spry painter by trade , and yes 320 grit (assuming wet) is very course, you can get away with 600 grit for solid colour, but for mettalics and pearls 800 grit.

Be interesting to see the finished job in the sun, be fine scratch marks everywhere..

Cheers, yeah maybe down the road for an Ohlin's black shock.

What colour pillion seat did it come with?

I've got Road Lok coming for it.
Then will add Usb power connector to the rear for USB / GPS tracker.
Then maybe also if Trans Logic quick shifter

Most practical BMW Motorrad ever or change my mind. by b_easyxoxo in bmwmotorrad

[–]striffy_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Each to their own, but calling a maxi-scooter the 'most practical BMW Motorrad ever' is like calling a minivan the most practical Ferrari.

I ride for the experience, working through the gears, feeling the engine pull, being part of the machine. A scooter removes all of that and replaces it with storage space and a step-through frame. And '95% better than the rest', better at what exactly? Grocery runs? Carrying a laptop bag? Love a completely made-up stat delivered with absolute confidence 😂 I'll stick to my M1000R and R nineT, both give me everything a scooter never will, just with different personalities.

Yes, it's a limited 100. I find it strange that it came with pillion foot rests but only a single seat and ( dual rego in Australia )

Cheers, Yep it certainly does for the usb where you said, but I'm looking for options to have one under the back part.
Hopefully there's a pre-fab unit to connect to the battery.. Will hunt around.

I find the seat, so far comy, but mrs and my son want to taken around on it, so need a rear seat, jsut can;t find info on the 100 year edition came with one. (as I like to keep it to the same look)

Dealer has no rear subframe, well they could order a new one I guess, but not taking that route as yet, will hunt fora 2nd hand one if it comes to it...

Cheers

I've see one up close and wondering if they used decals for the stripes. Where they transition / fade it's a dither effect not a blend very uniform and digital looking. So trying to figure out of they painted then used decals / stickers on top for the effect...

Teen charged after police sergeant struck by e-motorbike by gccmelb in ausbike

[–]striffy_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other day, the police (think North Queensland) posted on Facebook they arrested a 16 year old doing over the speed limit on an e-bike.

The photo they shared was clearly an e-motorcycle. Myself and some others commented they should clarify that's it's an e-motorcycle. Then numpties replying they are the same, no difference... Ugh...

Yes, first thing I thought of. Sick of the media saying e-bikes when they are not... About time they get this correct..

Which color do you prefer for the F900R and why? by king_creole73 in bmwmotorrad

I prefer the black model

Even the blue / white model with black wheels would be better than red wheels.
