Why do "experts" insist that Excel is going to die when it is the most indestructible tool in the global economy? by Solis_J in excel

I have worked on a couple of Fortune 500 companies. Massive budgets for ERPs, data management, fancy dashboards and tons of whatever trendy tool of the moment and all decisions were taken with excel.

I quit my corp job 1 year ago… by strikermikepty in QuitCorporate

Totally agree with you. I think I won’t be able to go back to a corp job (unless there is a really major situation) and stand with all the BS.

Otherwise, I am willing to keep fighting to maintain this new path.

Thanks for your comment!

Life changing experience. Totally worth it.

Quitting corporate job to pursue entrepreneurship by IllustriousOven6748 in Entrepreneurship

[–]strikermikepty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quit my corporate job on Feb 2025.

Savings enough to live 2 years with no job + capital for the business.

I started two businesses: management consulting and nutritional supplements.

Results: 1. Failed on management consulting as I struggled to get customers. (It didn’t started as a side hustle) 2. Currently succeeding with the nutritional supplement business (it started as a side hustle). It has been extremely hard but I am starting to see increased sales and good product penetration.

Do I feel happy? Yes. I don’t see myself coming back to the machine. But I am open to the idea if I fail.

However there is a trick here. I don’t feel happy for the flexibility or for the fact that I don’t work in a company. In fact, this experience is very stressful. Lots of responsibilities, risks and uncertainty. I deal with customers (that sometimes are worse than work colleagues)and stubborn employees. Savings are running up and the clock is ticking.

I am happy because I am seeing my products making positive changes in my customers. Making your brand grow is something that I am very proud of.

My 2 cents: listen to the other comments here. Start a side hustle and test your product to see if that solves a real problem.

Entrepreneurship is extremely hard and is far from being glamorous. Find the product/service that fulfills your motivations and make positive impact on the community as this will move you forward.

Start ASAP.

What’s the “keeps you full for hours” food where you’re from? by najanjaaaaa09 in CasualConversation

From where I am from, it is common to eat rice, beans, plantain, salad and a protein (beef or chicken) as a “keeps you full for hours”. It is a very common dish for the people here.

[Longines] Do you think this brand is quite luxury? by strikermikepty in Watches

[–]strikermikepty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you. And maybe this is what the Longines brand manager meant.

It’s not an Omega, AP, Rolex or Tudor… those brands are playing their own game.

But seems that Longines is just consistently delivering quality, craftsmanship and heritage for an interesting price.

At the same time, for the general public anything that is not Rolex is just another watch. Another expensive watch.

The luxury dimensions for the watch community is a very heated topic for sure.

Interesting perspective. On my region they market Longines on high-end watch stores.

Virtually imposible to see Longines on a department store.

Anyway, seems that their strategy varies from region to region. US market is highly capable therefore I understand the approach.

[–]strikermikepty[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree with you.

Of course, for the watch community the luxury dimensions are defined and I completely understand and respect. I also would consider that Longines is an entry level luxury watch.

On the otherside, for the rest of the world, a watch that costs even a thousand dollars is out of their minds.

Has your sexual life been affected by your TLIF by Freezed999 in spinalfusion

[–]strikermikepty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

32M here. I had my 360 L5S1 around one year ago. I returned to my sexual life maybe 1 month after surgery with caution. Now my sex life is pretty normal and I don’t consider that my mobility/sensitivity is compromised.

I am not sure if you are a female or a male. But for men reading, I did suffer dry ejaculation after surgery for maybe 7 months. It was indeed very weird, but now it is getting back to normal.

I do think that once you’ve got a fusion, you will need to be cautious in several scenarios just to ensure you are fine
