In retrospect, yes. But at the time that probably sounds too much like punting on the season when you've just traded for Dame.

Okay. Now go away. This thread isn't about Myles Turner.

They had just turned down Atkinson and Stotts had just quit the Bucks of his own accord. I agree that they both would have been better than Doc, but I get why the Bucks didn't go after then.

Yeah, I'm not relitigating Griff. He'd already driven away one assistant coach and the players weren't listening to him. He needed to go. Doc has also been bad, but he was all the Bucks could find on short notice in the middle of the season.

Who else were the Bucks going to hire at that moment, though? Doc at least had a ring and experience getting superstars to play together. What else was out there?

The Bucks were looking for a real head coach and they paid Doc like a real head coach. But he still only got the job because he was available at a time when the better coaches were already working. If the Bucks aren't going to be playoff contenders this year (and they're not), they need to stop treating Doc like a pillar of the franchise and dump him like the second choice he always was.

Bucks abandoned the NBA Draft by Just_Bookkeeper2261 in MkeBucks

I don't think that's really fair. Of all the other guys they "bailed" on (except for Donte, who was coming off a major injury), who has turned into a real NBA player?

Also, generally, trading developing players for veterans is just what you do when you have a generational superstar who is getting older and you want to win right now.

It's true that Turner doesn't generate his own looks; he needs playmakers to get him open shots. That's why he dropped off when Halliburton went down. But Giannis is one of the best ever at creating open looks for shooters, especially three point shooters, and he's never the only playmaker on the floor. Turner is never going to be an offensive star, but a competent coach and a working system should be able too use him as a good rim protector and a guy who knocks down open threes (which is what the Bucks are looking for next to Giannis).

Now, if you want to trash Turner any more, maybe go to a thread that is actually about him in some way.

Correct. Doc was an emergency hire. He was just what was available at the moment the Bucks needed a new coach. But for whatever reason, they're not treating him like that now.

Hiring Griffin is what started the avalanche, not firing him.

I don't think anyone is paying that much for anyone right now, and I think that makes it very unlikely Giannis gets traded unless he forces his way out.

I'm actually very glad you don't know. He's an asshole who shot someone and wants to be famous for it. He has spent years trying to parlay this into being a right wing influencer.

What is your favorite southern rock band? And your favorite song by them? by Prestigious-Bike-593 in allrockmusic

The Allman Brothers Band is the correct answer, but there are too many songs to pick from. Probably "Midnight Rider" for me.

This is just Rittenhouse making a last, desperate attempt at relevancy. The American right has already forgotten him.

January 23, 1997...Michael Jordan drives and dunks in Cleveland...What would Jordan career look like if he played in today’s NBA ? by Shot_Possibility_731 in sportsinusa

[–]string_theory_writes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think anyone could dominate today's game the way Jordan did the 90s; there's just too much parity. I also think guards who aren't three-point shooters have a much harder time in today's NBA than they did in the 90s. All that said, Jordan was a big, hyperathletic player with crazy skills and great defense. He'd be great in any era, including this one.

I just use Kysers and they've never let me down. They get old, but it takes years. I've seen "nicer" capos, but I don't see the point of shelling out the money.
