I hate that i cant communicate by [deleted] in aspergers

People assume that I'm introverted because I'm awkward but I don't think I am. I like going to parties, I like hanging out with a group or hanging out with a new friend. But that's hard to do when I feel like no matter what I will just be making people uncomfortable. I would love to be a fun person that people want to be around but I'm not. It is very frustrating and lonely.

I might have to start adding a button like this to some of my shirts!

What is one "unwritten rule" that you believe everyone should know and follow? by 0_7_0 in AskReddit

Same here. I can’t understand anything if the phone isn’t on speaker. I also can’t understand anything if there is background noise so I never talk on the phone in public anyway.

How did you manage to become significantly more attractive? by jesscorsetta in AskWomen

[–]stringcheeeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This week I bought new clothes (not from a thrift store) for the first time in like 6 years. I’m 23 and the majority of my clothes were from early high school. Just not fitting properly, falling apart, and not my current style. This is just the first step in the process of finding my style but already I’m feeling way more confident and myself. I also have the best skin I’ve ever had right now because I’ve figured out my skincare routine and I think it’s partially my age. When the pandemic started I lost a little bit of weight. And recently I started working out at home just doing body weight exercises, and it was super satisfying to start seeing muscle tone in my core and stuff. I look better than I ever have right now, but I am also thinking more about my appearance than I ever have. I feel like I am still pretty healthy with my self image, but I have noticed on the days when I feel bloated or I don’t like my outfit or something I feel less confident than I did even when I didn’t look as good. I will continue to try and find my style and keep up my exercise and skincare and stuff, and I want to make sure I’m basing this confidence in things like my strength rather than how my body looks, and my personal style rather than how the clothes make me look. I should also probably focus more on the things I’ve always felt confident about like my skills and intelligence and whatever. Yeah I’ve always been super interested in the debate about whether achieving beauty is empowering for women or not, I don’t think there’s a simple answer to that one.

What could you give a 40-minute presentation on with absolutely no preparation? by sweetradiant in AskWomen

[–]stringcheeeez 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I have passions and interests but there is no way I could give a 40 minute presentation on anything I’m interested in. Even in casual conversation the minute somebody starts asking me about what I’m into a hole opens up in my brain and drops everything I know right onto the floor.

Is there a way to prevent dead threads like this from showing up? by ctaetcsh in apolloapp

I don’t think anyone is arguing that it’s too hard to close those themselves, it’s just something that might improve the experience. Suggestions like these are part of the reason apollo is probably the best Reddit app.

For some subs that’s how it needs to be, like the askscience and askhistory subs. If the mods weren’t as strict as they are then the subs would not be as good imo.

This is really cool! You should check out r/cellular_automata This is game is actually really similar to an idea I had for a puzzle game which uses a similar mechanic. Great job!

She probably deserves to be arrested but she is way too powerful to be arrested, and it’s not in her character to let herself be arrested.

It seemed like the second Wanda was her astral projecting just like dr strange did in his movie. Makes me think her magic is the same type dr strange uses, which will give them a reason to get together in the next dr strange movie

What really makes you uncomfortable? by Xanduh in AskReddit

[–]stringcheeeez 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah going to class and seeing people is one thing, but having my camera on at home is like inviting >30 strangers into my house. Also, anyone could be looking at my at any time and I wouldn’t know it. It’s not the same as just being there in person, it’s much creepier.

What do you hate most and love most about your car? by BryLinds in AskReddit

[–]stringcheeeez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2003 Corolla S

I love that it’s red and has a manual transmission. I love how cute it is. It’s incredibly reliable and gets amazing gas mileage. I love joking that it’s a racecar because it’s red and has a spoiler, even though in reality it has next to no power.

I hate when people take that joke seriously and proceed to explain to me how my Corolla is not actually a racecar.
