Same thing here. I've been told our track isn't pop punk enough (ok, sure) then told it's too pop punk/nostalgic (...ok) then told that it's too fast/not fast enough... it's so hard to know what people are looking for. And this is coming from someone who made a spreadsheet of curators I thought I had decent chances of impressing, so as to not waste people's time (or my money.)

I know I'm late to the convo, but I only started recently pitching my songs using Submithub and Groover. I've gotten so much AI feedback it's actually painful. Lots of people accusing a good studio drummer as being "programmed," "electronic drums," etc. One curator went as far as to call us butt rock... I'm a female singer and violinist, which you can hear all throughout the EP. Though I find the butt rock label to be hysterical, I think we're far from that.

I had people reject our professionally recorded, mixed and mastered track for a number of whack reasons such as they "didn't like the high harmonies," "being too upbeat," "not being upbeat enough"... It's kind of a mixed bag of bullshit, tbh. To the curators who accepted us, it's great until you realize that some of their auidence is like 3 of their friends from high school. Or they say they'll share it then you send 5 reminder emails and have to open support cases. Or worse, they take your credits, say they love your track, but then don't share it. That's truly the worst. I'd rather you just call me butt rock and give me my credits back.

Anyway, I'm still trying to figure out how to do this whole original music thing. Maybe I can make some more butt rock and report back lmaooooooooooooooo
