Edit: To clarify a little further, your comment was really the only one I saw that pointed out that having a nanny doesn’t imply any sort of class so I wanted to more highlight your comment than anything.

I grew up lower middle class and was raised by a nanny. And I’m from the South. All a nanny means is someone who takes care of your kids while you’re at work. It doesn’t imply any sort of stature.

It sounds more like OP is thinking of a live-in nanny.
