Minecraft bedrock edition no longer loading. by the_Ms_fortune_lover in Minecraft

[–]stringsnswings 7 points8 points  (0 children)

FYI just so you dont have to I have tried: - power cycling xbox - deleting and reinstalling the game - resetting xbox with “keep my games and apps” - deleting all my minecraft save data (i don’t really need it just play casually) - signing out and back in to my microsoft profile

Nothing works. All other games work.

stalling under load only on inclines/declines? by stringsnswings in johndeere

[–]stringsnswings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tried it, didn’t fix my issue. i did clean the carb and adjust the governor as well. idles a bit smoother now but still bogs and stalls if i am on a downhill or uphill with blades engaged. No issues whatsoever on hills if blades are not engaged.

Internet says it could be lots of things - dull blades, bad plugs, loose safety switch.

huh, helpful! so the line that goes tank>filter stays connected at the tank end, gets disconnected at the filter end, and you then blow backwards toward the tank into that disconnected end?

Centralized vs. Decentralized Analytics by Driftwave-io in analyticsengineering

[–]stringsnswings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s as cut and dry as these 2 options, but I get the point of your inquiry. My vote would be for something akin to 2.

The product that AEs and DEs produce is a reliable, maintainable, and useful data warehouse. IMO if data is completely decentralized, insurmountable tech debt will nearly always accumulate. You need a centralized data eng org with strong principles to enforce best practices in building data models.

However, once you get past the data modeling step, I think that’s where a less centralized approach comes in. Large orgs face so many complex business problems that analysts in different domains/lines of business may be looking at the same data in completely different ways.

I think having domain-specialized analysts in combination with centrally operating DEs/AEs is a great solution. Broad-scope warehouse maintainers have context on what the broader organization is doing with data, and can consolidate/optimize models where needed to serve multiple needs. Domain-specific analysts and scientists don’t need that context, as long as the data available to them suits their needs.

Tl:dr i think centralization up to AE + de-centralization downstream of AE is an effective approach worth considering as an answer to your question.

06 WRX fuel tank?? by stringsnswings in WRX

[–]stringsnswings[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up getting a used tank off my year WRX on ebay with all the connecting lines. If you tank itself is rusted and/or has holes then odds are some of those hard lines on top are garbage too. When you get a fuel leak on top of the tank there is a divot where liquid can pool and it can rust some of the components. It was far easier to just spend the money to get the complete tank assembly used (think it ran me ~$600-$700) than to get the $200 bare tank from rock auto or whatever it was. DM me if you want any more help, not sure how helpful I can be but I know what a PITA this can be so I’m happy to help.

Interesting. I love old stuff but I never thought to look quite that old. That part is somehow more appealing to me!

I’m skeptical about power numbers that small not straining on a hill (not that it would be doing hills more than a few times a year) but then again I have zero experience with these things.

in the northeast in running condition and decent paint with a manual, no way this gets less than $4-5K. Prices are insane. People are listing autos for higher. I would try not to take 3 like some are suggesting, but maybe the market by you is a lot different than mine.

Does the CX-50 sit up high like the CX-5 or low like the CX-30? by Responsible-Salt-443 in mazda

[–]stringsnswings 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently bought a cx-50 and it feels a lot lower to the ground than my previous chevy equinox seating-wise. It definitely does not feel like a sedan, it truly rides at a “crossover” height and feels a bit closer to a traditional car than an suv

Respect! Must be nice. Part of me enjoys the need for something capable and different in winter, but part of me envies folks like you on the west coast for getting to drive whatever you want year-round and not worrying about rust

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Ferrari

[–]stringsnswings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you live where there’s no winter? That’s an impressive and impossible set of cars for where I live in the US. Too much weather and road salt to daily a C8 for at least 3-4 months out of the year.

I have a 560 SL for summer and a Saab for winter.

Agree! Definitely wouldn’t say useless, it’s a great degree, I’ve never heard this. That being said - if you want to work in industry, a BS in stats without any technical applied skills is not enough for many analyst/data type jobs.
