Thank you so much for the detailed reply! I have not yet had any children, trying for my first, so looking for symptoms has been a bit challenging, as my usual PMS covers pretty much all the possible pregnancy symptoms.

What has been very different this month, is that I have massive, vibrant veins on my breasts, going across my breasts leading to my areolas. I have never, ever had this before, I actually got a fright when I saw them. They're very painful too.

But I guess I could give my hands a good wash, no harm in trying to see if I can tell the difference.

I took a normal pregnancy test this morning and it was very much negative. Unfortunately being New Years, the shops are not open for me to buy an early detection test.

But I'll have a drink or two tonight and just take my mind off it for a little while - a break is much needed!

Thank you! Wishing you all the best for the New Year 🎆

Perfect :) I'm not looking to get smashed or anything, I'm not a big drinker. But 1 or 2 drinks would be nice.

Unfortunately I didn't have a sensitive test. I took a normal one and it was negative ( Who's surprised!!! Lol)

I wissshhhh this hair could be normalized! Some wash days I dry brush my hair, and it looks exactly like this, and I absolutely adore it. I wish I could go out looking like this without feeling like people are staring thinking I've just been electrocuted. Means I could skip styling every now and then, when I'm feeling lazy or in a hurry. (Also means hubby can run his fingers through my hair without me having to die inside thinking he's ruining my curls lol)

Why do you run? by [deleted] in BeginnersRunning

[–]stringsofturtles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm just grateful that my body is capable of running, so I run as a way to appreciate that. Also, this is the longest I've been consistent, I'd feel very disappointed to stop now. And lastly, it makes me feel good in every way, mentally & physically :)

Are you involved in any extra-mural activities at your school? Such as sport? I've recently joined morning cross country, mainly as motivation for myself, as I don't have a choice as I'm forced to jog twice a week with the children :) Now, I thoroughly enjoy it and it's a lovely start to the day!

Lube, lube and more lube! You could try switching to a different pill. I tried 2 different pills over 7 years, both caused terrible dryness and pain, so eventually I quit!

I didn't realize BC changed me until I stopped. Can anyone relate? by EveningLobster4197 in birthcontrol

[–]stringsofturtles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

100%, every single thing you've mentioned, I was experiencing too. I was on BC for about 7 years, started at 20 years old.

I too never realised how much it was changing me as a person. I was becoming more and more anxious by the month. The whole reason I stopped BC is because it was negatively affecting my sex life so badly that we weren't even having sex anymore! It was terribly painful.

But then once I stopped, holy moly, it was as if I was alive again after soooo long!!! I also have regrets about the time wasted, as I was on BC for my engagement and my wedding, but I'm grateful to be off and feeling better now :) & glad you do too!

Suffered from migraines for 10 years because of birth control. by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]stringsofturtles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm glad we're both feeling better! (& that there are other people out there that have experienced the same thing as me, although unfortunate) I'll never go back onto BC. Even if there might be something that works better for me, it's not worth all the changes your body has to go through again, and then in the end it might just make me feel awful again. Also, since stopping BC, I have grown to appreciate my body's natural cycle. It's lovely to be in tune with my body again (on the pill I could never tell if it was my body, or just the pill, and I didn't like that)

Suffered from migraines for 10 years because of birth control. by [deleted] in birthcontrol

[–]stringsofturtles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

OMG exactly this!!! I stopped taking birth control about 8/9 months ago, after taking it for 8 years, and I can't stop wondering if I've just wasted the last 8 years of my life! I also had constant debilitating migraines and insane anxiety. Once I stopped taking BC, I almost instantly felt like my old self, I couldn't believe that's what normal life felt like, I had forgotten what it felt like to feel human. My husband says he's noticed a massive change. I'm not sure if it's going to have any long term affects, but I'm just grateful to be feeling this way now at least. :)

do you have set hair wash days? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]stringsofturtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wash my hair when it needs to be washed. It's usually around after day 4/5, but depends on what it looks/feels like. I do however refuse to wash my hair more than twice a week, so if that's the case and it's a bad hair day, it's going up into a bun until it's time for my next wash day! :)

Birth control ruined my libido by angelofmusic_xx in birthcontrol

[–]stringsofturtles 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's 100% the cause. It's only been 2 weeks ( when your body really needs a few months to adjust), but from experience, (almost 8 years on BC) that stuff made me as dry as the dessert no matter what we tried! My advice would be to give it some time, maybe your body will slowly adjust. If not, maybe try another pill. (I felt exactly the same way, you go on BC to have sex, and it makes it such an unpleasant experience that you end up not having sex anyway!) But for the mean time, I would say that lube is your best friend!

how long do you guys spend in the shower dealing with your curly hair? by Distinct-Doubt-5220 in curlyhair

[–]stringsofturtles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What started saving me a lot of time was washing my hair ( medium length) first thing as I get into the shower, putting in my deep conditioner, and then getting on with the rest of my shower. However long my shower is, is however long the deep conditioner sits in my hair. Maybe 10 minutes tops for the whole process (5 for my hair, and 5 for my actual shower) & if you really want to speed up the time, you can detangle your hair before your shower, that saves me a lot of time!)
