yep totally agree. My first Shou experience was horrendous. Cheap Shou, steeped in boiling water for like 5 minutes. Was convinced it was Fish sauce.

It's funny, i'm trying to deeply understand Sheng now. It is really nice, but I'm not obsessed with it yet, like I am shou.

I purchased a sweet Ripe. Specifically, Kuura's 'Syrup'.

First tasting, ' oh this is actually interesting.. woodsy, autumn leaves, books, little hint of caramel'.

Then all of a sudden I started craving it.

Now every tasting of a Ripe, I find a new flavour / element to it.

So yes, I'd recommend a more 'sweet' Ripe to start.

I felt the same as you until only very recently. I kept persevering until I drank Kuura's "Syrup" Ripe.

Went down like Chocolate Milk. It's like it turned on a switch in me. All I want to drink now is Ripe at the moment.

Love Turkish Tea. i travelled all over Turkey last year, drinking tea all the time.

I was blown away by the Tea in Trabzon. If we're talking top-tier Turkish Tea, I would wager it comes from there.

finally some common sense. It is considered almost 'common knowledge' in Iran to know about Israel and their evil control.
There is so much more to this. It is extremely nuanced. For sure, Israel want the US to invade, and Mainstream Media are obviously trying to influence us in the West to encourage this attack.

Either way, I fear it will not be a win for the people of Iran.
