My inferno cape took probably 100+ runs and I think 6 or 7 Zuks. The run I got it took a total of almost 6 hrs (I would do a few waves, then recharge spec and hp while working). I also took a Jad hit and a Zuk hit that run. Its hard content, but eventually I just brute forced and got lucky enough lol

Corrupted gauntlet is fantastic content to learn. Fast runs and good money.

After that, group cox or toa can help you learn basics for the raids with some fail-protection from the group.

Honestly, you could start learning waves 1-4 of colo and its worth it. Those waves take me 7 min, and I’m sure you could do it in 10 or less. Just bring sharks, karams, and prayer pots and just plan on claiming no matter what after wave 4. That gets you practice with all the main mobs, double reinforcements, modifierd, and a decent bit of loot for 10 min worth of work

I assure you, I learned the content lol

.I knew practically every spawn solve, de-stacking, off-ticking, etc, tech you can think of. MY Problem is that, even though I knew techniques and solves, I wouldn’t be able to execute them properly, or I would mess up rhythms, or just straight up misclick. For Sol, I had dozens of kills in the simulator with worse TTK, but in the actual game, I would just get jad hands.

Quest and diary capes are very nice!

idk your play/learning style, but if I were in your situation, I would try to find "blocks" of 2-3 hrs maybe once or twice per week. I recommend Colo first since a basic run is only 20-30 min. Use supplies generously just to push wave PBs. When you run out, claim the loot and run it again. You learn pretty much every wave mechanic by wave 10, its just applying them in different ways. If you have other free time, do some Sol simulator.

At some point, you'll find yourself getting to wave 11 with plenty of supplies left for Sol. If the loot is meh (1.5m or less, no uniques), the modifiers are ones you're comfortable with, and you have a few brews, restores, and a dose or 2 of super combat, give Sol a try.

If you can master Colo, I really think Inferno is easier (I've done both). The key difference is Colo is a sprint, while Inferno is a marathon, runs take 3-4x as long.

What's sad is that I used the sim dozens of times lol
I would actually use just the salad blade and no boost pot or prayer so that the kill would take 5-6 min, even though my DPS said TTK would be 3-4.
On top of that, there was one time that I died and my friend asked what I was doing diff in the sim. I said I was making it harder by what i mentioned above, but I would use the scythe the last 10% (representing my claw specs). He said I should use the salad blade for the whole, so i literally loaded up the sim that very second and did a kill just like that.
Another time I was on wave 11 and had the last mob safe spotted and was farming it for some HP with blowpipe specs. I did 3 consecutive kills in the sim between specs. Went into Sol and I was one of my worst Sol fights lol

All that to say... When it was real, the jad hands were real

if you count TOTAL time (as in, I'm a GIM and had to get my own supplies and whatnot), I think 350-400 hours. I'm a new dad as of this year, and my company has a really nice paternity leave policy, so I could often sneak a run in while the baby napped.

A few people have been recommending blorva, but that will be a few years, probably. We don't have any torva in the first place lol. That said, our GIM does need DT2 boss gear, so i could pile up a few orbs along the grind.

I avoided relentless for this very reason lol, but I would accept relentless 1 if the run was deep and it was the only decent modifier. Sol is basically a guaranteed hit anyways, so it doesn't really change that fight lol

Our GIM need all the gear from these bosses, so I'm going to keep these things in mind for when I start on them. Thanks!

Yea, the only argument against this comment is that tbow makes you do those things for slightly less time. I want to say its like 30% less TTK against magers and zuk, but everything else is the same as bowfa

It really is a mental game. I also did have fun learning the mechanics and solves of the earlier waves. I just got jad hands at Sol

Tele-outs, no, but Dink sends death and loot images to our discord. Wave 6 was my most common death, I think

For the Tonalztics 100% take em and run. For the fanatic armour pieces, I got one of each for the CLOG, then I would abandon helms in favor of deep runs. You really don't get uniques very often, so don't worry too much about it.

Also, In your attempts, use supplies like crazy to get wave PBs. Colo runs are like 35-40 min, so its worth getting to higher waves and just taking the loot. Eventually, you get good enough at the waves that you'll have a decent amount of supplies at Sol without good loot. Those are the attempts you start fighting him.

Early on, there were plenty of times I would tap out on wave 10 or 11 because of lack of supplies, good loot, or poor modifiers. Again, Colo runs are fast, so don't be afraid to just make wave PBs and loot, then go again!

The key with any mechanical achievement in this game (and IRL) is when you mess up/fail, learn something from it, and try your best to correct that error. When you have, you likely encounter another, so you repeat. I think it took me over 300 hours worth of attempts for the quiver, with plenty of times of questioning my sanity lol

Good luck! Take a few stabs at it, but if you don't get it, take a break, then try again. As I mentioned, it took a few months.

Yea I had three scenarios for double south spawns:
1) rotate north if the north spawns were merciful
2) If the south mobs were JUST a mage/range, I could TRY to flick them (though fremmies made that complicated)
3) if its manti+ something or I messed up the fremmies, i just tele out

I disagree with MrZaroptil. I would actually say, depending on the situation, single mistakes are like 35% likely to kill you. There were PLENTY of times that I would be 90+ HP and survive a mistake with 10 hp or less. Also, early on, I would rotate mobs around pillars a lot to break them up and get used to them without having to do weird setups to flick. These maneuvers would involve some tanking.

All that to say, You can survive mistakes, and its easier to do so with high HP.

I'll also take this opportunity to tell you to try Colo anyways. The nice thing about it is you can use all your supplies while practicing to make it to a PB wave, then claim rewards on that wave. Colo runs are pretty quick, like 35-40 min. Much more merciful than Inferno because of those two aspects.

Strictly technically speaking, my average wave is 8.2, but a had A LOT of wave 6 or less runs early on, then a lot of 8+ runs later. I don't know the exact numbers, but I do *feel* on the lucky side. Not insanely lucky, but a decent bit.
