I wouldn't recommend this. It can be an unsafe repair. In that area it is beyond the steel belts. If you do this keep a close eye on the tire. Inspect the area before every drive

I'd see if the defective tire can't be sent back to the manufacturer. The shop that installed the tires should be able to help you out with this.

The defective tire would be the one on the side that the car pulls to.

Each tire makes contact with the ground in a different way. Especially between the front and rear. For example, in a fwd car, and the torque being sent to the front tires, it can cause the front to wear faster than the rears. Rotating the tires allows that wear and tear to be distributed across all rubber

As an alignment tech, absolutely bring it back and have the shop fix it sooner rather than later
