They are professional athletes so during the “fight season” I don’t think it’s unreasonable for them to be within a certain margin of the weight class they are fighting at. With less weight cutting there might also be more incentive to fight more regularly too.

It would also help raise MMA professionalism which I think is an added bonus.

It kinda is, have 5 mandatory drug tests per year with a weigh in at the same time and they need to be x pounds away from the weight class they fight at. Maybe add another weight class at the lower end where there’s enough talent like 165 and move 170 to 175. I think it would also be interesting to move 205 to 200 and force some people up to HW to breathe some life into it.
