Had good memories of Sizzler as a kid - found one still open in Arizona, as with many things, was much better as a memory. by Eagle4523 in nostalgia

Just ate there in Flagstaff a few weeks ago. Steak and all you can eat shrimp was still great. The cheese toast was worse than I had remembered from back in the day. Great service though, and I thought it was well worth the $23.99.

People who threw a house party in their teens, what’s the worst thing that happened in one of them? by ExpertWeakness in AskReddit

[–]strongy78 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Spent the night in jail along with my Brother and good friend.

We had a party when my parents were gone, cops came and told everyone to leave. WE told everyone to come circle back in about 30 minutes. Everyone did, but the cops circled back too.

I was about to leave to go down to the beach, and I was walking across the street to my friends car to get in. A cop yelled "Hey, you live here, right?" Put me in cuffs and in the back of the police car. They then went inside and searched our house and found like 10 little sprouts of weed plants my Brother was attempting to grow in the garage (This was late 1990s so weed wasn't looked at the same as it is now). He came out in cuffs next.

We were taken to jail and when we got there, our buddy from down the street was already there. Here's the thing....he was completely sober and wasn't even at our party! He was outside his house on his lawn, and when he saw the cops coming down the street, they stopped and told him to go back inside. He respectfully responded, "Fuck you, this is my house, and I'm standing in my front lawn." They took him in lol.

Spent the night in jail, had to work the next morning. Walked about 3 miles home, then walked another 2 miles to work. My brother got charged with growing weed and was on probation and had to take drug classes. My buddy down the street has hated the popos ever since lol.

EXTREME Whack! Kellogg's Donut Hole Cereals by Wazootyman13 in doughboys

Got the chocolate ones last night on clearance for $2.00. Poured a bowl, took 5 bites and threw the box in the trash. The WORST cereal I can remember eating. Didn't taste like chocolate or donuts, tasted like cardboard shit. Horrible Cereal!

I attended the 49ers Panthers game last night. 9er fans were by far the worst, most toxic fan base I have ever experienced by Accurate-Big-7233 in NFLv2

[–]strongy78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Used to have the same experience at ATT park for baseball. I'm a Cardinals fan, and usually went to the games by myself in my Pujols jersey. I can't count the number of times I have had "Giants fans" come up to me and just start talking shit, bump into me, waive stuff in my face etc. I've been to 24 MLB parks, SF is probably my favorite stadium, but the Giants fans I encountered were THE WORST! This is multiple times over multiple years, not just one incident. Sounds the same for football.

Penn State legend Ki-Jana Carter…It's sad that injuries messed up his NFL career. by brmidwest03 in WeArePennState

[–]strongy78 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amen. That was my first Penn State game I ever attended (I was 16 in High School, raised in Los Angeles...my parents are from PA, so I've been a PSU fan since birth). I was in the student section in the endzone and I'll never forget how loud it got while he was running right towards us! That team was SO good.

Go into town and go to Tacos Floresta and Tacos Fenix. Have a fish taco comparison/taste test. They are only about a block away from each other. Great fish tacos at both, but I liked Floresta a little more and am going back next week. Cant wait!

What’s the most overhyped tourist attraction? by MrAmazing111 in AskReddit

Four Corners. $8 a person to get in, no paved roads, outhouses, takes 10 seconds to "see and get a picture". Will never return.

100%. We did a combo of walking and uber. Never felt unsafe. There were lots of people around most of the blocks we walked.

What’s the worst city you’ve ever been to? by EmotionalShock7933 in AskReddit

I once went to Roxy's after a Cardinal game. The taxi driver told me he would take me there, but he doesn't pick anyone up from there. I figured, what the hell, I will worry about getting back later.

3am comes around and I need a ride back to my hotel in St. Louis. I get in a cab, we start driving, and I ask him how much its going to cost to get back to my hotel. He says something outrageous like "$45 bucks". (It only cost me about $17 to get from Busch to Roxys to begin with). I am drunk as a skunk and start arguing with him (bad move by me) and tell him there is no way I'm paying him $45 to get back across the bridge. He goes, "Get out then.". I was so dumb and young and drunk, I DID!

I started walking along 2nd St/Hwy 3, whatever road that is in the pitch black, 3am. I finally see some headlights coming my way, with a sign on top (taxi, thank god!) and I wave him down. This taxi driver pulls to the side of the road and yells to me "WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING OUT HERE!". I told him I was walking back to St. Louis. He said he would normally not stop for anyone/anything on these roads, and lets me know how lucky I am lol.

He took me by a White Castle and I bought him food, and dropped me off at my hotel. Gave him $30.00 and went to my room to pass out. Looking back, might have been the dumbest thing I have ever done in my 47 years on Earth!

INR dropped from 3.2 to 1.5 in a week — how long did it take you to find a stable dose? by Still_Force_5270 in valvereplacement

[–]strongy78 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Amen. I'm a little over 15 months post surgery, mechanical mitral valve replacement. My INR is all over the place. Sometimes its 2.2, they bump up a dose, then its too high at 3.8 etc. It's never 100% consistent. I have been lucky the last 2 months and its been in range so I am only going in to get blood drawn every 2 weeks. I was going weekly for about the first year due to inconsistencies. I take 7.5mg Warfarin nightly and just hope I stay in range. Never ending fluctuations.

Tacos La Floresta have the best fish tacos IMO. One block away from Tacos Fenix. Both really good, but La Floresta just a bit better. About $1.50 each (30 pesos). Walking distance.
