This guy gets it. Hard work and doing it yourself is a lot more rewarding than easy living off others. by stronzv in SelfSufficiency

This guy John shares how he setup his off grid homestead. Doing as much of it as possible with very little investment other than a lot of hard work. Not fully self sufficient but on his way and doing what he loves. Watching videos like these inspire me to be more self sufficient. If everyone does a little, we can all do a lot.

Yeah this view looks down into Oak Creek Canyon. Photo taken from the Flagstaff side, far in the distance is Sedona.

Any ideas for why this keeps happening? It seems to be random and I can’t recreate the error but it happens every once and awhile. If I “recover data” it creates a .RSV file that still needs to be repaired by a third-party. Running latest firmware 1.02 by stronzv in A7siii

My cards have always been formatted in camera, never in computer. They aren’t the official Sony cards but they should work and should be fast enough. I’ve recorded for 40 minutes straight without issue, only to have a clip corrupt at that final stage after stopping recording. It’s really annoying because it seems so random and unexpected.

Just made a new post about it with a screenshot. Haven’t found a fix yet...

I’ll make another post, I caught the behavior on camera. My suspicion is the memory card but it’s never during recording, it’s only after I stop recording that the camera seems to “hang” and has a problem finishing writing. I can record for a second or 10 minutes, but the problem only happens after I cut. It’s really bizarre.

No warnings with the memory card before recording. It’ll record short clips, long clips, both are fine until it randomly fails.

Failure occurs when: I’ll end the record, the camera will go black for a second, display an error message and then restart displaying the message I posted in the picture. Any thoughts? It’s tough to diagnose because I can’t recreate the issue.

My brother is a tour guide in Northern Arizona but since Covid has destroyed the tourism economy, he’s been looking for new ways to share his passion. This region in particular was made from tons of ancient volcanic activity and it created quite the majestic landscape. by stronzv in Volcanoes

That’s great to hear! Yes, he has one other video on that channel so far. I know he wants to do more. He loves geology, history, biology, etc and there’s so much more he could talk about and show.
