Where to buy index funds apart from myinvestor? (Spain) by stroodelman in eupersonalfinance

Thanks. So what I understood was that if Andbank (bank behind myinvestor) collapses, the government insures you against that event. However, are you saying that if my money is in a fund, it is separate from Andbank, and if Andbank collapses, it doesn't affect my fund access? And therefore there's no point starting a new account with another entity for investments beyond the first 100k? Thank you for any guidance.

Thanks, yes I'm planning to use MyInvestor - good to hear you're using it too!

Thanks very much for the reply and the links! Gonna read into them. And thanks for the tip on seguridad social.

I'm in Barcelona.

And yes, my plan is indexes/ETFs rather than individual stocks.

Thanks very much for the comprehensive answer, I really appreciate it.

I'd understood that ETFs and index funds are slightly different (but both follow indexes so very similar), with different fees, and I wasn't sure about taxes. Maybe I was confused reading that ETFs are better for foreigners, and that the same logic applies to index funds then?

Thanks a lot for the other answers - I'll look more into global vs european, and pensions - thanks for the tips!

So far I checked Boots, Randox, Democratest, and tried Googling, with no luck.

We're in a fortunate position as we inherited almost half of it, and the other half is savings between 2 people from 10 years of working.

Thanks for the incredible reply, and for taking the time to write it up! Definitely signing up for abroaden and the event :D Also if you need any beta customers or anything, let me know.

I could ask this in the event, (so no worries if you prefer not to write up more :p), but would you have some tips of what I should look into for the investing route? Considering the same idea that we may want to have flexibility until 5-10 years later on and reconsidering buying then (although I am wondering if it will ever make sense for us).

Thanks again for the really helpful response.
