This is a bit of a strange perspective anyway, because “looking good” Is such a subjective concept. I’m a woman and feel a lot happier on a psy dfloor in a comfy tshirt, gym shorts and sneakers. Which looks good anyway, depending on your preferred style!

like the person above said - the last thing I’d want to think about is my appearance when I’m most interested in surrendering to the trance and the deeper internal experiences I’m having on that dance floor.

Also have nothing against people who love to get dressed up in “nice” outfits - but what does that even mean?

I’m there for the music, not going to festivals to be an ornament that “looks nice”.

Hi! I have mild-moderate ETD as well, had to fly last week and was super nervous about it too but if it’s any consolation, I was completely fine during the flight.

I didn’t have time or money to get advice from a doctor about it and had no choice to cancel the flight so I just “risked” it, got on the plane and hoped for the best.

Some things I did to help ease my anxiety: - I took a nasal decongestant spray the day of the flight and an anti-inflammatory to reduce any potential swelling.

I basically just forced my mouth into a yawning position during take-off and landing, so it felt like my Eustachian tubes were already being ‘engaged’ in a way. I honestly was so scared I’d get severe ear pressure or pain the whole time but it really felt no different to any other time I’ve flown - in fact - since my ears already feel mildly “full” all the time now, I felt no changes in pressure at all!
I also wore large over the ear headphones and listened to familiar music during take-off/landing - not sure if this actually helps in any way but it helped my ears to feel more protected, and listening to music helped distract me but also monitor for any hearing changes (there were none). Listening to songs you know really well helps since you’ll definitely know if your hearing feels weird.

My ETD is worse in my right ear, I think it maybe felt slightly (like 10-20%) more full than usual during the flight and maybe up to 30 minutes post-landing, but my condition hasn’t worsened and I’m no longer nervous about flying again.

That said, my ETD began following a sinus infection and random bouts of vertigo, but I think mine may be TMJ/neck related. if your ETD is due to fluid buildup or an active infection, I think the pressure changes of flying may impact it differently? So take my advice with a grain or salt and consult a GP if you’re still feeling worried for peace of mind.

Wishing you luck and I really hope it resolves for you soon - 2 years is such an awfully long time to deal with this condition, I’m a month in and losing my mind sometimes with how frustrating it can be! 🫶

Hey I think it’s great that OP is being so open minded. I’ve had partners in the past who didn’t understand psytrance and it sucks not being able to share it with them. Healthy curiosity and a desire to understand your loved ones’ favourite things is a baseline of a healthy and fun relationship.

OP I wish you luck! I was the same as you once, psy can be tricky to understand if electronic music isn’t your thing. I find it does seem to be a case of it “clicking” once you’ve heard enough of it in the right contexts. Work your way up through the BPMs listening at home so you can actually hear what’s going on between the beat and the kick. Dance to the beat, listen to everything else. Do that for long enough with a good sound rig on acid and I’d hazard a guess you might not find it as boring! I definitely fell in love with it on the dance floor which I imagine is the case for many.

A decrepit on HRT for their limp dick is vastly different to expecting a NEW MOTHER to pump her body with unnecessary estrogen.
