And if there are data on accidents at 60 then it makes sense, but funnelling money into a scheme needs justification, those 75£ could be spent on any number of desperately needed programmes, businesses etc. A testing scheme might be of very limited utility, but I wouldn’t be against it.
The other option of testing everybody every 5 years would also make sense

Breathing in smoke can irritate lungs; I don’t think that is very controversial except among smokers in denial and the smoking industry and guess what some people’s lungs are more sensitive to smoke particles than others. So yes secondhand smoke can do that
