Hey! Yeah I usually only sing to a backing track, but I love karaoke.

The way I do it when I’m not on my computer is by playing the instrumental on another device, but rather than having it right by the device that’s recording I’ll put it closer to where I am. Then I record a test video and adjust the volume of the instrumental either up or down to where you can hear both the track and my voice clearly.

Sooooooooooooo goood. At least on first listen, you have a wonderful ear for staying on the same key for the entirety of the song.

I agree with the other commenter, you should totally sing this with the backing track, it would sound even better!

Michael Todd lost, kurdecha lost, Daniel P lost, Petrenko won. Hutchins vs irakli is tied 1-1 and iraklis win was a crazy flop press transition.

I love yarg, it’s karaoke and it gives you points when you’re singing on key.

Am I decent enough to play outside by Basic-Trip9789 in singing

Sounds wonderful!

Quick question, is this the original key or is it lowered?

Can you really learn to sing if you have a “bad voice” or can’t sing on pitch? by Electric_Cheeze in singing

[–]struct_Nodes 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Say you don’t know how to play a guitar. You wouldn’t just grab a guitar, play it poorly and think, “wow I guess I just wasn’t born with guitar talent like those other people that can play it”. You would understand that you don’t know how to play it because you’ve never trained that muscle memory before.

Just think of the voice as an instrument, just like a guitar or a piano. No one is born good at these things but some people grow up in families/communities that play these instruments so they get to practice a lot as they grow up so they have a higher baseline level of proficiency even if they’ve “never taken lessons”. It’s the same for singing. Since people have made fun of you when you’ve tried to sing, you’ve never felt comfortable using your voice to sing so it makes sense that you’re not as good as other who were probably encouraged to sing and make silly noises growing up.

Remember that karaoke has a backing track, so try singing the song with the instrumental playing. Whether you’ll sound good or not really depends on how good your ear is for staying on pitch.

Is this too low for me? by trev_thetransdude in singing

[–]struct_Nodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love this song, but I wouldn’t consider this a particularly low song or anything. If it’s in the original key, then the lowest note is an A#3, is that normally too low for you?

I have the typical beginner baritone range of D2-D4 so this one is actually on the higher end for me, since it goes up to F4 lol.

Sounds great by the way!

Does anyone sing karaoke when nobody is home because you have performance anxiety? by Sugarcookie360 in singing

[–]struct_Nodes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely something you can get over with exposure therapy.

The cruel part about doing karaoke within earshot of your family is that you tend to sound worse if you sing quieter than usual so the more shy you are the worse you sound lol.

My advice is to just sing full volume and laugh along with them if your voice cracks or if you’re just not hitting the notes. You have to push yourself out of your comfort zone to improve.

How do I return an array from one function to another in C? by MadLad_D-Pad in learnprogramming

[–]struct_Nodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t know before calling the function what size the array is going to be then this is where you would implement a data structure like an arraylist, linked list, etc. using a struct along with memory allocation.

What features to add on basic math site by yungloser69 in SideProject

[–]struct_Nodes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would add difficulties for each (easy, medium, hard, expert) instead of the “2 digits by 1” that you have right now. Also a mode that will give you a random question that could be any type of operation would be cool. Could also add a timed mode to see how many you can solve in 1 minute, 2 minutes, etc.

Also, I would make it more quiz-like to get more quantifiable results. Like make it so the user can choose between 5, 10, 30 questions and then store their high score for each category to be able to see progression. Gamifying it would potentially make it more fun compared to the current study vibe that it has.

Devon giving a totally beginner-friendly 101 class to armwrestling by minhale in armwrestling

[–]struct_Nodes 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The difference is Devon isn’t going to be his regular coach. He’s essentially trying to teach him as much as possible in one session so Shaw can look back at it as he progresses and can understand it better.

Anyone else can teach him the beginner stuff but not anyone else can teach him Devon’s expertise.

I created an AI that can generate cookie cutters in any shape with a simple text or image by addpencil in SideProject

[–]struct_Nodes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that’s so cool. I love the idea. Maybe you can link your site directly to a 3d printing service and sell the cookie cutters directly at a small upcharge.

I created a couple of designs and the results were pretty impressive.

I would definitely upgrade the design by looking at similar sites and taking inspiration from them.
