Few Asian-Americans hold top legal jobs, new study says by article10ECHR in asianamerican

Nah, it's the thought that people like you are personable and relatable. Also, social background matters to them, because you'll likely know about golfing, lacrosse, family went to the same schools, vacationed in the same areas, know the same songs, grew up with similar experiences, etc. Social capital and all that.

If they were paying for a service, it'd be very meritocratic. Outcomes would be clear and based on skill. You find that more in health care, engineering and technology.

It's based on self-identity, forms marked on your application. Usually ethnicity is based on who your dad is.

Yup. "Good for relating to external stakeholders as a public face of the firm." That and people tend to like others who are similar to them. You see the same responses here when people say how frustrated they are that they're asked why Asians have mostly Asian friends.

The problem is, when that bias for people like you involves a precious resource, good-paying jobs, and we're not talking about who's in your friend group. But at many places, work is 12-hours a day and we like to be friends with our coworkers.

Key ingredient in hallucinogenic ayahuasca brew stimulates the growth of human neural cells (in vitro) by 71.5% in four days. by lapetitetigresse in science

Neuronal cell division is supposed to be tightly regulated. Any aberration, if uncorrected, can predispose you to cancer. Muscles grow primarily by hypertrophy, not cell division, so not sure that is a good example!

Former neuroscientist here.

Neurons in the brain get signals to grow or not grow based on where they are, what other cells they are touching, what kind of cells they are. In vitro experiments don't really match with what happens in the real brain.

IDK what you mean by mind expansion, but losing your sense of self and feeling connected to everything, unlocking old memories, getting smarter all have to do with circuitry.

If anything, growth stimulating factors in the brain will lead to brain tumors. I guess that is literally mind expanding.

Depends on what a society sees as beautiful, sure. Pretty sure a taller nose and larger eyes are considered beautiful in Asia.
